the problem for c++ and code generation via LLM is that there are too many ways to do everything (for good reason tbh) and they all look alike. An LLM will not keep the right context in scope given the diversity of code it was trained on and how specific any individual code base is.

So yes you could theoretically run a first order Markov model trained on C code and reproduce the Linux kernel, but you're not gonna do that. You're gonna use Claude or whatever because it's more likely to do that in finite time.

I don't think it was true then (lack of intervention probably had more to do with internal problems in other parts of the USSR) but it's definitely not true here, they don't have that leverage yet.

You can create a connection and incrementally read chunks with `readChar`, split on `\n`, etc... or actually you can use `readLines` with an explicitly open connection and limit the number of lines to read to 4, then just keep each 1st of each batch read. That's probably the most code golf solution.
