Interestingly enough, these special editions are $0.50 cheaper than the soft yellow model I bought on JetPens in march of 2015 -- you can't say that about many pen models in 2024.

I usually post. Only a handful of fairly large pens feel better unposted to me, most notable the TWSBI Vac700. My hands are just large enough that some pens really need the extra length and weight at the back.

But of course some pens don't post or don't post well, and I don't generally consider it a dealbreaker unless they're very short or very slim.

It's worth noting also that this isn't just the church down the street that they happen to go to on Sunday mornings -- they described themselves as part of the "startup team" for a new church, and the anti-LGBTQ+ statements come from the official podcast of the parent church. It makes it much harder to believe that this is an aberrant view of one member of the church that they don't also hold, especially since they refuse to comment on it.

Letters are the main driver of my #fountainpen usage -- they determine how many pens I keep inked, which inks I use, what paper I buy, even to some extent what kinds of nibs I favor.

I love almost everything about letter writing: the time to think, to organize those thoughts, to express them thoughtfully; The freedom to express complex and serious ideas without having to worry about an immediate response. The surprise of finding a letter in the mail. It's the best of my hobbies.

Looks like the reddit fountainpen mods are having a hard time deciding whether or not to allow the FPR instagram debacle post to stay up.

I have 17 of their pens. I won't be buying any future models.

Everyone is allowed their political opinions, but it's very hard to read "who's the dictator, America?" as anything *other* than a call to engage with the owner's politics, and my engagement is going to be severing the customer relationship.
