You COULD demonstrate a reproduceable method of checking the lay of the land though. Oddly enough, the last time I went through this was with a knucklehead by the name of Johann Cater, who used to be the #1 Flat Earth Deboonker on gab. Have you considered, you know, checking? Pretty simple, really. All you need is an old surveyor&#39;s theodolite and some basic math and map reading skills to do it. Just set up on a known spot (a brass benchmark would be ideal) and take a reading on a mountain peak and then check the distance and do the math and see if the reading correlates to what your topo map says.
