Hopefully it will just be overnight.

Six weeks ago I went to my eye doc because I thought I had a retinal tear. He ordered an MRI but told me to go to the ER if it changes. That MRI was postponed by the hospital to the end of October. My eye issue changed and today I decided to go to the ER. The one I went to transferred me to a different hospital. I have several tests yet but an ophthalmologist said I’ve had a retinal stroke. 2026-10-16T22:59:37Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs9zyyx9dwdmjreyq8p2f8msmvjcsmzh6j8dc43kdzh36wqay4vangzyp30ujgzx4j7q76k6a9zqdep7n4zru5yly545qv6nz25lduxfmkf5cva2vd This is my sweet potato harvest for 2026. I used empty poultry feed bags as grow bags. Next year I may try limiting my slips to two per bag and see how they work out.

This was a rough year for my overall garden. Where did THAT come from?

Since my girls have never laid dark eggs before, I suspect this is from one of the backyard neighbor ducks we took in last fall. Don’t fret. The egg is perfectly good.

Some duck breeds lay dark eggs at the start of the laying season then, like an emptying laser printer cartridge, they get lighter as time goes on.

Cayuga ducks, which I suspect these are, are the most well-known breed for dark eggs.
