I also really like how BBC series give it like 12 to 25 or so episodes a lot of the time, and then wrap it up.

It went Iron Maiden into thrash into punk and hardcore music... then 1989, Ministry's fourth album came out, the first Faith No More album with Mike Patton came out... I got into Danzig... hardcore bands from NYC and NJ toured in our area... I played bass in both a death metal and hardcore band... there was lots of stuff going on.

As a child, I heard the first album tracks for sure. I was 12 when "Amanda" was on the radio. My friends and I quickly went from Iron Maiden to thrash and punk and death metal and industrial and whatever.

But it's been fun to go into these bands we disregarded back then and hear the content. I'm doing the same with Journey now. I'd never known about the Santana connection. Because of The Sopranos, "Don't Stop Believin'" is elevated to a favorite song for me.
