"The promise of the cloud" is a personal story and I'm sharing it here in gratitude to 🟤 isolabellart (nprofile…ge5h)

I didn't want to leave Canada. Beautiful British Columbia had become my home. In the short seven months I spent there, I couldn't get enough of the ocean, trees, hills, and beaches. One ferry ride inspired me to paint the sunrise among the forest covered islands.

I told God that I didn't want to leave. Where else could I live among such natural beauty? As a response, he showed me the clouds and promised that wherever my home would be, I would just have to look up and natural beauty would always be there.

I have moved a few times since the promise was made. My current home is not exactly known for its natural beauty. The landscape it flat and urban and being outdoors is often unpleasant due to the heat. I forgot the promise.

Years later Carlo Isolabella painted a magnificent cloud above a tiny home. He named the painting "la promessa delle nuvole". It spoke to me. It reminded me of the promise made to me, that no matter where my temporary home is, I am always surrounded by natural beauty. I told my husband how I have been keeping the painting in a bowser tab just so I can look at it every day. So he bought it for me. When the original oil painting arrived, tears filled my eyes.

From my perspective it looks like my heavenly father commissioned a painter in Italy to paint his promise so I can look at it every day and never forget just how loved I am.
