The only way a robot army will exist is if billionaires pay for and build a robot army, and considering their history of wealth acquisition they're unlikely to spaff their own money on this.

They just want to scare people and divide and conquer with a distraction and flex at us.

I was a clueless student in MCR in 1989. I didn’t live in Hulme, and experienced it mostly as a tourist - I was scared of it and was thankful I did not live there yet at the same time I was also a bit jealous that I wasn’t bold enough to go and live there like many students did. By 1991 I knew it better and was partying at the PSV and went to The Kitchen a few times. By 1995 I was DJing at the PSV. This article captures all the magic and fear of how Hulme disassembled. A lot of art came from it.

and yes, I broadly concur with everything you said about glitch. I have left a few Aphex Twin gigs (or performances at festivals) because other rooms are more fun, and that is what I am there for. Same for a recent Autechre gig. There is something ULTRA about that kind of music for the fans I think.

I have this LP, which I bought the week it came out. I confess I find listening to it quite difficult. It gives me a kind of sea sickness, or vertigo, or something where my stability is gone. The tracks are all super long too.

That said, I always have a pile of records that I "haven't understood properly yet" which I return to and select something and try and work out what it is all about.

It works very well with your ace video though.

The archive of your timeline is still free, and really quite amazing - it spins up a local server and you can interact with your posts through a localhost. All the media is there too, which means a sizeable upload (mine is 2.5Gb). I am building it to delete my timeline and also it will be fun. I am going to use websockets so everyone sees the same tweet being deleted, with a timer counting down until 💥.

I am currently planning a website to delete my tweets one by one. Kind of an art project. If it runs 24hrs a day and deletes one tweet every 1.5 minutes (the limit for a free developers account) it will take 47 days.

I describe it this way because I used to build WCAG accessible web content and thought I was pretty cool using different screen readers and building accessible content until I saw real visually impaired users operating their computer with a screen reader and it was completely different from how I was doing it. The speed, for example, was very surprising - they were extremely fast and using loads of shortcuts I wasn’t. It’s a different experience.

in my experience if you don’t navigate by keyboard only you will be surprised to see how users who do this interact with web pages. They learn by doing and they remember what they need to do on different platforms. My advice for any documentation you create is to be broad about how to interact e.g. on any platform - opening a select might be from space/enter/down so try all three and see which works. Encourage experimenting and feeling confident with finding what works
