For me it does seem like looking at screens before breakfast / first hour of the day can be a trigger. I want to get more intentional on this.

I bought myself something nice recently.

It's called a "brace and bit drill". It's a type of human-powered drill that dates back centuries.

This one has a 10-inch "sweep". That is, the handle that rotates around the central axis is 5 inches from that central axis, providing lots of torque.

So far it's been a joy to use. I can auger a 1/2" hole through 3/4"s of softwood in less than 20 seconds, and it's like cutting through vegan butter. Very stimmy. 🤗

A friend's partner has a lathe, and might be interested in crafting wood components to replace the two black plastic (🤮) ones. >__> Excited to see if this works out!

Aaaah, I love hand tools so much. ^__^ I hope it lasts a very long time.

I also wanted to ask about the section called "Jackpotmaxxing". It reads,

Does this mean that only posts that are supportive of cryptocurrencies, chatbots, etc. are unwelcome, or all conversation or mention of these technologies at all is unwelcome?

Is this intentionally "Black & White"[1] versus "Greyscale"?

I looked around and I see a number of members who do not stick to exclusively black and white.

[1] A much more pedantic sidebar: why are "Black" and "White" capitalized in this context?
