It was accented by beautiful waterfalls that I climbed along. The upper right pic shows the base of one of the climbs and the lower right pic is a view looking down near the top of another climb. The section was 4,600 ft (1,400m) long with a vertical gain of 1,500 ft (450m) and an average grade of 33%. As much as I enjoyed the other ranges (most in Pemigewasset Wilderness), I’m looking to try out new trails. Keeping it simple on the first several trips— plan to day-hike as many different trails as possible, enjoying the new area plus scouting for good (future) primitive camping and snowshoeing.
