I hope you’re well. It is 74 and partly cloudy in northern Ohio, and the Weather Channel app says our high today will be 77.

I did something different today. I made and started my list of things to get done before posting. I’m off to play with electricity! A switch needs to be replaced in our range hood, and I need to find out why a (GFCI) outlet quit putting out! (See what I did with the words?? 😜). So…I’m going to get back to work now. I hope you sleep well.

Today did not go as I expected. First, my body decided it would be fun to wake up (5:20A) 1-2 hours earlier than my alarm was set for. And, because I was not rested, I thought and moved slower than I usually do (started later…). Finally, I totally forgot that my wife and I had a viewing to attend. A friend from church had recently passed… So after all that, and when we were back home, we met my dad at my inlaws‘ house and we celebrated a belated Father’s Day.

I think that turned out being the only thing that went according to plan. But I am thankful that I still have a dad to celebrate with!

Sleep well, my Friends! Be thankful for every day you have with Family. I hope you're well. This morning in northern Ohio absolutely beautiful. It is sunny today, the birds are singing, the current temp is 69, and the Weather Channel says to expect a high of 74 degrees!

I made my list of things to do today, and will be working through it while my wife and kids are away. I think they're going to visit my in-laws and go to Cedar Point.

I plan to replace the thermostat in our deepfreeze. Our basement flooded and did some damage to the electrics of our deepfreeze. I didn't realize the damage had been done, and everything THAWED!!! When I realized this, I did what I could (prayed that God would be merciful and allow the freezer to be repairable, and looked for similar stories on YouTube) I came across a video of a fellow who repaired his deepfreeze by replacing a $36 part! I tested the freezer and the part he mentioned. My freezer's problem was identical to his! So, I did loose a freezer-ful of food (fruit, veggies, meat, and other food), but, praise God, I was able to source the replacement part on eBay for $36, and the freezer is expected to live!

After I get the new thermostat installed, I"ll be doing some chores in the house and in the garden.

I hope you have a great day and stay busy! 2026-06-23T14:33:32Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsp0l8pn5ujaq3mm0hlku7wz4kt78pur906g6s5guvwyn9dedxqyxczypwwk3d7stajzzlcc299d8nf427qfp7c8dh4qshxdz24cjec9rwn2sydsv4 In reply to nevent1q…nwgj
_________________________

👍 2026-06-06T23:32:15Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsrdw5da4vjscvarc04ast5tn4q4rt8rnv6xus5p2vxjpwrvcykgmgzypwwk3d7stajzzlcc299d8nf427qfp7c8dh4qshxdz24cjec9rwn2gr9j4m In reply to nevent1q…qwcs
_________________________

You are blessed! 2026-06-06T23:31:28Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs0cv7adrrx7vx88fkwmayhh7sy55rk248tj5n6qf5av0y7hjaqh9qzypwwk3d7stajzzlcc299d8nf427qfp7c8dh4qshxdz24cjec9rwn2z3anex In reply to nevent1q…rr4n
_________________________

Good night! Then, it rained yesterday. A lot! I stayed up overnight watching/checking the basement pump periodically throughout Wednesday night. Water continued to rise in basement despite the pump working all through the night.

Somehow the dehumidifier tipped on its side. I heard it try many times to come on, but it did not stay on. I hope it still lives. (Logic says it should be dead, but it isn’t my nature to be too pessimistic…or, apparently, realistic… We shall see!)

I hope my freezer still lives. It is on 6” of concrete blocks, and is on high-ish ground (for the basement).

I prayed throughout the night that the rain would stop and that the pump would be able to catch/keep up with the water coming in the basement. But it seems I was answered with a “No”. We have better than 8” of water on the basement floor.

I am eagerly waiting for the rain to cease, (Weather Channel app says it should e done soon - for today and tomorrow…) and that the temps outside to get into the mid/high-60’s. Then I’ll open the windows and let the warm air in!

I’ll be calling someone to inspect/snake out the floor drain/tile in our basement.
