Official data and recent studies cited by the Ministry of Education show that prolonged screen use in class has been linked to shorter attention spans, weaker reading comprehension, and reduced critical-thinking abilities.

Research consistently finds that reading on illuminated screens requires greater mental effort and invites more distractions compared to the calm, linear experience of physical books—factors believed to have contributed to declining academic outcomes in recent years.

Under the new plan, every student will receive printed textbooks for all core subjects, restoring books as the central learning tool. Digital devices and online resources will remain available as supportive tools, but they will no longer dominate daily instruction.

This bold €100+ million investment signals Sweden’s leadership in rethinking the role of technology in education. It underscores a broader, growing recognition worldwide: while screens provide speed and access, the hands-on, distraction-free engagement of physical books supports deeper concentration, stronger memory retention, and more effective long-term learning.

By choosing paper over pixels, Sweden is charting a path toward a more balanced, evidence-informed classroom future—one that puts proven pedagogical principles ahead of unchecked digital trends.

2026-10-22T03:30:00Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsgty5dthasgmg6z4zsx74gq5wxqmr05qzuvq7nc3res9lll5f6awszypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2z5ac4d When KISS revealed their faces without makeup for the first time in 1983.

2026-10-11T14:30:00Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsxy5htmal9rqfyu6zel6eeak6q445r08vsfr2maegfe5nk0wff86szypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2dck0nm Carpenter Giliam de Carpentier has built himself a walking table that is able to deliver drinks right to him. Early animal trials showed new tooth buds forming within weeks — a stunning achievement in regenerative biology.

If human trials succeed, this patch could cure tooth loss, treat severe dental decay, and even regenerate damaged enamel. Millions suffering from dental problems may soon see a future where their smile naturally grows back.

2026-08-10T10:55:14Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsgwqesegs7ty2px4uydcyh3pwcmupsx92gldwm7tue2t4hqlw867qzypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2varyul When Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in Japanese noodle commercials in the 1980s.

2026-08-03T23:30:00Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsq9dhhkcqxztrz6swfxngs3v55uq48gk0s6u2hd9ektf2qda3jyeczypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2pzpnkj France has made planned obsolescence a criminal offense, becoming one of the first countries in the world to treat deliberate product shortening as a serious crime.

Manufacturers caught intentionally designing electronics, appliances, or other goods to fail prematurely or become unusable, whether through hardware flaws, software updates that slow performance, or other engineered limitations, now face steep penalties: up to 2 years in prison and fines reaching €300,000, or as high as 5% of their average annual turnover in the most serious cases.

This landmark law, building on France’s earlier consumer-protection framework and reinforced by high-profile scandals (such as the 2017–2018 investigations into smartphone “battery-gate” slowdowns), explicitly targets both physical and digital tactics used to push consumers toward frequent replacements.

The legislation is more than just punishment, it’s a cornerstone of France’s broader “right to repair” agenda. By criminalizing practices that drive premature disposal, the government aims to:

- Slash the massive environmental footprint of electronic waste,
- Protect consumers from hidden “forced upgrades,”
- Encourage manufacturers to prioritize durability, repairability, and longer-lasting support.

France’s tough stance sends a clear message to global tech and appliance companies: the era of disposable-by-design products is ending. By leading the charge on sustainability and consumer rights, the country is helping shift the world toward a more circular economy, one where goods are built to last, repaired when needed, and discarded only when truly necessary.

2026-07-28T02:00:01Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs235vvfzrpjsldxy95hw2umyfs57jnkm7eal2vapdz3vekctm2zhczypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2lef9z4 Afghans preserve grapes by sealing them in mud containers for months. The new yards typically feature native California-friendly plants, organic mulch, and efficient drip irrigation systems, which lower water bills and benefit local ecosystems.

To qualify, applicants must follow a strict pre-approval process: submit landscape plans, site photos, and utility bills online. Once approved, they have six months to complete the project. Experts recommend installing plants between October and March for optimal root establishment. Participants are required to maintain the new landscaping for at least five years.

By joining the program, homeowners not only earn significant rebates but also help recharge groundwater, reduce urban runoff, and protect Southern California’s limited water resources.

2026-06-28T13:34:00Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsdvj5hjj2kh0js4fa7mrgq3ycv2z959rzjur2k50tq3wevde0qquczypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2lse3dh Praying Mantis vs. Hornet

2026-06-15T11:18:00Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs0weurvd4jqmd9vcfuur6xs2jgkrccfzhkga280q2fxavv7652xhgzypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2wvh8ms Deer call World Championship 2026 in Germany

2026-04-18T07:56:07Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsr76mjuksu25tgwakxzzkrnxwww0cuvre5ek9dfzaua0zlaezzrqqzypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e253gfh8 Anamorphic art reveals its true image only from a particular perspective.

2026-01-11T07:11:23Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsys98wy2lu7v949km9qqvrra03wd85x02gykptcnachxf44l04h7szypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e27ry5xx The working mechanism of various machines

2026-01-08T14:00:01Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsd3gclnz9rr37lhtanfvvmecyh6t9cpy9hk3qz0y6xrmdyvs6289szypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2mklht9 A ceiling art that makes optical illusion

[📹 justinflom]

2025-12-25T13:39:51Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsftatl7pqw05pu2n8mmej0kxvds55vw8lw2ap7a8atf92wr7lcm0szypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2cfkne0 This lemur appears to have found a way to say clearly that it wants to be petted using gestures.

2025-06-08T15:47:36Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsqrwnrx4ddqldgk60j3d3ndmjy06z6tsxfskwktc49r3xw66n3msszypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e24fnwad The story of the man who got countless noise complaints for excessive screaming and loud music from neighbors and set up a nanny cam to find this.

2025-03-16T04:30:00Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqszxmwfj0rvr2q4rrfst8m902g7dln3srykhj8r8svua982r7tdelszypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2gty2dz Impact on face seen in extremely slow motion.

[📹 The Slow Mo Guys]

2024-08-13T20:26:14Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsfqceqdrtkprl2tnmwnpxn4pulyamf9mx4tgatuwt4v7496xx6lsczypwm0ndl2j7xwcedfga8jv3c08sgtrqe8lvda5mmqas4nzr9ls0e2n8wfem «Nothing new under the sun»

[📹 jalenameyer]

2024-08-13T07:01:17Z
