That said, watching Patrick Stewart play Vladimir opposite Ian McKellen’s Estragon in Waiting for Godot was a truly profound experience that taught me what kind of actor he was. RIP.

After thinking about this for a bit, my best concept is a cute little orange hermit crab that can be drawn with different “shells”, where each shell is the case from some sort of hardware. This captures NetBSD’s “can run on anything” philosophy of portability and gives you a nice way to specialize the mascot for different working groups in the community. To be a little cheeky/use the lore, the default shell could be a toaster 😊

The weather fought us a bit yesterday, with heavy headwinds and light rain, but still a pleasant ride.

We made it to the outskirts of Szczecin, where we had this view while eating our morning porridge. The campground was chosen because it has a pair of saunas whose windows face out over the Małe Dąbie (the smaller of a pair of lakes at the mouth of the Oder River).

We made it ~80km into Poland today, first along the Eurovelo 10/13 (which we’ve ridden extensively in both Germany and Poland), then along the Polish “blue velo” route 3. The latter offered lovely forest paths and great views of the lagoon. 😍

We rode to the east end of Usedom yesterday, then took today off to enjoy excellent late summer weather on the beach. Tomorrow we ride into Poland via Świnoujście and turn south along the edge of Szczecin Lagoon (Zalew Szczeciński/Stettiner Haff).

It’s great, and quite hackable (a Linux box with a big community). As a pure reader, I ended up preferring something smaller and waterproof (Kobo Clara), but for note taking its amazing.
