also:
- Frontend (but like, not 'react at any costs', more like 'performant web app that adopts an appropriate rendering strategy and technology for your business)
- Backend (systems architecture, making sure the architecture is suitable for your org)
- Internal learning/training/mentorship programs
- Internal DX (from "we're thinking about adopting CI" to "the infra team foisted backstage upon us and it isn't suitable for our workflow, help")

My colleague called me a nerd for using vim yesterday, which was an extremely "these are not my people" moment, so if anyone wants a me, I'm open to being hired! I'm shockingly cheap too fyi. Open to exploring working on a contract basis too. I know:
- Developer relations
- Engineering teams, engineering culture, spotify model stuff
- Mob programming
- Guitar building

Hello, I’m in search of mastodon train folk, is there a website that might tell me what is going on with this stopped train I’m on? I don’t understand the announcements in German (I realize the answer is probably just “that’s Deutsche Bahn”, but it would be good to know if my train still plans to actually make it to my destination)

The tech industry has fuck all to offer.

They made one good email client ever, and then deleted it.

There’s nothing of worth there.

Being a programmer is almost exactly like being a builder, except you show up to work with a toolbox full of spanners and power tools you know how to use dangerously and improperly, your education was in assembling Lego, the worksite is a skyscraper made of mud, and your colleagues think you’re being intentionally obtuse when you tell them there’s no way of knowing how long it will take to attach a windmill made of cheese.

I'm thinking it might be time for a GPU upgrade. I'm on Linux, and hoping to avoid Nvidia. I'm wavering between a 7900XTX which is currently the top performing AMD GPU but from the previous generation, and the 9070XT which is the top model from the current generation but underperforms the 7900XTX. Should I be waiting for the next announcements from the current generation? Or just biting the bullet and going with Nvidia? They became stabler recently but burned linux bridges. #linuxgaming

He just casually runs largest crypto scam in history the day before inauguration and it's barely even a footnote? We're so fucked.

Do I know anyone who plays #bass? I’m looking for amp buying advice. I’ve played bass for like 15 years - first with a cheap unbranded combo, then with my studio monitors. Now I don’t live in an apartment anymore, I want an amp that sounds good, but I have no idea what to look for. Are combos ok? Any suggestions?
