this has decent sensitivity. especially considering this is a $0.20 microphone. It would probably be better if this was actually designed for this. I'd put some analog high pass filters on it and have the microphone closer to the ADC. It also needs an extra gain stage.

I should probably dump this test board in git somewhere. It's pretty useful for a lot of things.

libcamera is stupid, I think I have to patch out it's call to V4L2_CID_USER_BCM2835_ISP_GAMMA if I want to actually have any realtime control over the tonemapping of the camera... It's a bit annoying that libcamera at the same time doesn't have a method to adjust the gamma curve but still sets it every frame to the same constant value...

There's C-mount lenses with electronics, but those just have random external cables for it. for every mount I'm going to have an adapter board anyway to supply the correct power to the lens and convert the protocol, I guess I'd just do SPI to the adapter board.

The electronic lens I have is not C-mount, that mount doesn't even have a proper name.

I've seen some RE efforts for the MFT mount yes, I have not ...

The official raspberry pi 5" screen v2 is portrait orientation (720x1280). The one I'm using now is from waveshare and is 1024x600, so landscape orientation so I can have the video stream fully hardware accelerated.
