infrastructure like edge CDNs, HTTP/3, and browser tech like caches, prefetch, and speculation rules all continue to improve the standard way

The SPA approach throws all that away. And RSC seem to struggle with it. Evidently React (and any JS-heavy framework) in practice either way makes it worse (and not just due to bundle size)

I always treat any third-party domain <script> as hostile without async/defer (or type="module") because it blocks render. Browsers can wait something like 30 seconds trying to fetch them.

yes this is one aspect of Deno that is done well. They've even deprecated a few Deno-specific proprietary APIs [1] in favour of standard library pieces built on web standard APIs. Notably the Buffer and Web Stream stuff is in @std is cross-runtime I think (were Node to support those web APIs, I'm not familiar)
