I think you're at least partly joking haha but theres a definite case to be made for comp games as a paid monthly service. or freemium model. if I ever have enough time to invest in making computer games I'd pick one of those. I like freemium because you can provide versions for players of ever possible different economic means and budgets from "my budget is zero / I will pirate no matter what" to the rich whales ("drop $5000 on one game? meh. duh!")

I'm coming around to policy that gitignore should default to everything and then we should manually whitelist the filepath patterns to include in repo (*.c; *.sh ...) because it does seem typically the opposite approach leads to more work over time and more stuff leaking into the repo that never should have, esp fat binaries and secrets

I cannot disagree on vim vs vi. I have a TODO to pin my vim versions because the new post-Moolenaar maintainer has started allowing AI commits. but have punted on the hassle.

vi is the only FOSS tool I've seriously considered maintaining my own fork, but I'm reluctant to take on any extra LOE to my plate. too many things I should be doing or want to be doing as it is, dagnabbit. (unless I could brand it as "vi.ai" with a hard promise of NoAI used, allowed or supported, and still land some of those sweet sweet AI VC gazillions)
