Dalton Mills in Keighley had yet another "mysterious" fire a few weeks ago. I explored this spot a few years ago, now all this history is lost.

For future generations, I worry how much will be left of our British industrial heritage.

🚃 A glimpse into a bygone era and forgotten childhood memories. These trams were a popular part of Blackpool seaside holidays for generations of families.

After their retirement from service, they were stored awaiting restoration in a compound at Fleetwood Docks.

Sadly, most of them ended up scrapped or scavenged for parts when the heritage group disbanded.

A grand blue dome hangs above the empty dance floor, and a lone microphone stands on the decaying stage.

Once a lively venue, it is now out of fashion and out of time. It has been demolished since my visit; now only photos remain.

A Gothic Crypt In The Forest of Scotland

This enchanting small building is surrounded by a small woodland. The chapel and crypt were built in the mid-1800s. Built out of local sandstone, the building is small but beautiful.

The heavy wooden double doors are studded, in addition to having decorative scrolls and Fleur Di’ Lis metalwork. Above the door is a pointed arch which would have once held stained glass.

This spectacular control room was built in the 1920s in Art Deco style. Natural light enters through an immense central skylight. Levers, switches, and dials line the walls, while crescent-shaped panels encircle the space. A concrete bunker with a steel door stands to one side, built to protect workers during WW2 air strikes.

Dating to the late 1800s, once the summer home of a wealthy family. Later it was converted into a spa hotel.

In the 1990s, new hotels with more modern facilities were built. Many of the older hotels with dated decor, such as this one, closed.

Aye it's disappointing, I don't think people realise the consequences of disturbing seals. We had to uplift one recently that was exhausted on a beach, and a crowd of 40+ people were trying to push it into the sea. They thought they were helping, which makes it even sadder. Definitely think more educational signs on beaches to explain they just need space to nap would help.

Taken with a zoom lens; always keep a good distance. Seals come ashore to rest.and digest, never force them into the sea!

The site opened in the 1870s and held over 600 patients suffering from a wide range of conditions, from dementia to violent maladies.

New laws abolished manicomio in the late 1970s.

Once the heart of the Ougrée Ironworks site in Liège. At 60m-tall it ran 24 hours a day for 70 years, until the ironworks closed in 2011.

The rest of the site has been demolished, this will be preserved as a piece of industrial heritage.
