For example, remember when Microsoft decided to name the act of sharing songs between Zune users "squirting," and encouraged everyone to squirt with their friends? Zune was already under-performing, but that was pretty much the nail in the coffin of anyone taking it seriously.

My new app is now available on Flathub!

If you have a Kobo e-reader and like to load content on it from outside of the Kobo store, Kepublicity is the easiest way do it.

Linux (the kernel) is completely uninteresting to me as a technology.

The only interesting thing about it is that it serves as a foundation for other projects to build on top of it, for the purposes of empowerment and liberation. My computing devices do my bidding, not the bidding of others whose interests are counter to mine.

Plus, I love the feeling of building software as a community. That the tools we're making benefit not just the people building them, but everyone, and that anyone can make a difference and shape the future. We have to actively work to address the fact that some people are privileged and have a louder voice than others, but equality is an ideal we have to work toward.

For me, the social and political aspects of the free desktop are the entire point.

GNOME Calendar has gotten *so good*, it just handles ICS files, multi-day events, multiple calendars, and mismatched timezones so well now. Hands down my favorite calendar app on any platform. If there's a "most improved app award", surely it must be a contender.

Current storage crisis aside, how is that 128GB is still the default storage size for phones?

Surely 512GB should at least be the standard, if not 1TB

(I suppose the answer is that most phone manufacturers also own the largest streaming and cloud platforms and want to keep rent seeking so we pay for their services instead of saving everything locally... but I digress)
