That sounds like an exciting start to the day Caity. Exactly like some of the escapades that my dogs have treated me to over the years. Among their finest moments was the time my big Bull Arab gave me the slip and raced off to a picnic/bbq area. He found a table with a group sitting around it enjoying their food so joined them by leaping up onto the table and helping himself to a free meal. I was in hot pursuit and got him off the table in quick time offering apologies and restitution. We didn't walk anywhere near that park again for a lonnnggg time. Not Monty Loco though. He's a very good boy. I hope he's not listening.😂

Me and Monty are both well, thanks Caity, and adjusting steadily to having our new house mate (my 21 year old grandson). Other than my dogs and the occasional visitor, I've lived alone for about 15 years. Never lonely as I've got lots of family and friends around but having one as a fulltime house mate requires a bit of adjustment.

I've had house issues today too. The booster in my hot water system isn't working. I don't think I've ever used it as the sun normally provides plenty of hot water but now Grandson number 1 is living with me we've been running out. I turned on the booster but to no avail. Called the Solarhart folk out and they checked everything over and said that it's all working ok but there's no electricity supply to the booster. Tomorrow the electrician will come and check out what's going on. Meanwhile we hope there's been enough sun to bring the water temperature up above luke warm.

That's about the time that I have to start telling Monty that it's too early to go to the dog park. Then he asks for updates every 20 or 30 minutes. Some panic is brewing as they worry they won't get as much as was anticipated. I guess there will be some recent buyers who may now slide into negative equity.

I think they're better off, politically, to remain independent. That doesn't prevent them from working together on issues of common concern but it does allow them to prioritise their electorate's concerns ahead of a party position. Financially they would be better off as a party - until the Farrell funding scam is ruled unconstitutional.

Much of the commentary seems to suggest that rather than lift up folk who are doing it tough we'll be dragging down those who are a little better off. I had my daughter's dog, Laura, as well as Monty Loco with me for this morning's walk. They're not ideally matched as Monty just likes to walk non-stop while Laura likes to stop and sniff every second clump of grass. We had a good time out anyway often under the studious gaze of the locals. ;? )

yep. It gets cold in Canberra but more often than not it's sunny and that makes a difference. Mum's in the south east of England (closer to France than she is to Manchester). I stayed with her for all of February and only had 3 days when it didn't rain.

I had the heater on from about 3.30 yesterday afternoon. I aim to turn it on before the temperature drops too much so it doesn't have to work as hard to bring it back up. I'm not sure if that saves electricity or not. Generally I have the temperature set to 20 degrees which some people think is not warm enough but it seems comfortable to me. I turn the heating off when I go to bed. The battery dropped to 52% of it's 16kwh capacity overnight and is charging happily this morning starting from a bit after 7.30 am. It's just charging from the solar panels.
