ML has been around for 50 years or more and has a lot of very useful applications. GenAI is a pretty new application of ML which is being hyped up as the solution to every possible problem. The main issues with GenAI are the massive energy and water usage and the theft of copyrighted works as training material. I'm not a fan of GenAI but not all AI is bad. 2025-01-23T14:24:08Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs8esndfatwfg5hlqsfjqm8c2p0fg8ww2gxq9mngxtt47r7f79zxlczyzv2vj4ezaht497dy4vj7aqgv65yztjdphgr55vlxhj4yfu9t9e76yseq2f Hey new fedi people: Mastodon isn't like those other apps. Click follow. Say hello to the owl peering down at you from the oak tree. Click follow. Keep following until your feed is a calm forest stream flowing past lichen covered stones.
