Sometimes ARIA can be really useful. Owncast's chat has a handy aria live region that automatically reads incoming messages so I don't have to keep manually checking it. But then places like Sound on Sound have one on the carousel bit that flashes up articles they think you'd like, which just interrupts what my screen reader says every time the damn thing changes.

I love that you want to make sure your site's accessible. I will say though that you'd be best only using ARIA only if it's absolutely needed. I've seen sites that would've been much better if they used regular old html, like there's no need to give something role=button because screen readers already know what regular buttons are.
The worst one I've seen was Barclays for some daft reason marking up the entire part of the page that displayed transactions as hidden so as far as NVDA was concerned it didn't exist at all.

Just keep in mind that there will be blind people who will still use OnePassword because they find it more accessible than Bitwarden, and not because they support whatever racist shite they're doing. I have never used the latter and I didn't get on with OnePassword so I don't know which one is more accessible, but I'm just saying for us lot it's not just as easy as importing your data across if the UI is only usable by the sighted.
There was a firefox alternative going round that has better ethics, but turns out that it doesn't have the same accessibility engine as Firefox, or it wasn't enabled or something. So shock horror I still use Firefox.

Seems like they had more in than in the Monty Python cheese shop.

They probably have an app but I don't want to rely on that because it will end up being unsupported, or the manufacturer will go bust or whatever.

Last night I had a look at the Rail Announcement Generator again. Glad to see it's still being updated.
I just love that a nerd took the time to build it and also made sure that it's screen reader accessible (not so much on iOS and I think it's more Apple's doing).
Also shame on Worldline for not allowing him to use the Anne voice I remember them using at Manchester Piccadilly. I haven't been on a train in years so I don't know who they use now.

In my experience, when it comes To authors who write novels about anthropomorphic animals, Dick King Smith is the best of them. I've loved his books since I was a child and still occasionally read them as an adult.
With that said, that's my opinion, and I'd love to see other author recommendations.
Other ones I know of include Colin Dann, Brian Jacques and Robin Jarvis.

Just finished The Fox Busters - a new to me Dick King Smith book. It was his first which I think you can tell from how it's written. But still what a start to his writing career and bloody hell it's brutal.
Very of its time in some ways with rigid gender rolls particularly with how Spillers and Massy Harris (not sure of spelling as I listened to the audiobook) are written. MH could've done with a good pecking off Spillers.
I will say that I was pleasantly surprised that the titular Fox Busters were pullets.
On the hole I enjoyed it and I'd probably give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I found the artist and title of a song I've wondered about for decades - Read Oh by Soul Vibrations. They use it to illustrate popular music of Nicaragua. Shame it's not available anywhere though. I remember Blue peter or something like that using it as well.

Today I found out that that sad violin piece that gets overused in films and whatnot is called "Hearts and Flowers", and it's by Theodore Moses-Tobani.
I've wondered what the hell that was called for decades. Thanks Doctor Who transcript of lux.

The hairdressers I go to used to play Spotify free with ads. Surely they're not even aloud to use Spotify for that anyway full stop, premium or otherwise.
