"In the recording, Lal quoted $6,000 for a package covering antenatal sessions, birth support and six weeks of postpartum care.

So, it basically sounds like $6000 for no guarantee of actual support?

I don't remember exactly what I paid, but it wasn't a cheap cut. I didn't tip because they cut it the way I asked for. They did a fabulous job the first time I got a cut, but the second time was a huge disappointment. Decided shampoo was cheaper than haircuts and never got another cut. That was 30 years ago.

I was almost always in a bra even while sleeping. Menopause gave me some relief from chronic pain and swelling. Erratic hormone shifts from PCOS coupled with fibrocystic breast tissue was something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Plus being brutally mugged by the tit fairy during puberty gave me an awful lot of bulk to deal with. So as much as I wished I could go without a bra it really wasn't an option.

Back in the 1980's I was turned down for jobs because I was a woman, but they used "safety" as the justification.

Several different employers told me directly or indirectly that I would be a "distraction" to the other people working on the crew.

Another told me I was "too pretty" and I would get raped on the jobsite.

I had some job interviews that turned into request for prostitution services.

Mind you I wasn't searching in the male entertainment field, I never interviewed at strip clubs or massage parlors or anything like that.

These were basic jobs in manufacturing and industry.

I am beyond angry at the moment, not quite at full-on rage yet, but damn close.

So… my elderly mother is a breast cancer survivor, and she has had chemo and a double mastectomy.

Due to concerns over certain symptoms my mom was having, her primary care doctor set her up with an MRI scan of the upper chest area to observe the remaining breast tissue since mom does not have enough left to do a mammogram on.

Several months of phone tag later, and no appointment.

My mom tells the doctor the she hasn’t managed to get the scan yet. The Doctor calls to find out why, and she is told by the radiology department that something was not done right on the request form, and that it needed to be re-done. Doctor re-submits the request and still no response.

Doctor calls the radiology department again for clarification and is told that the wording is wrong. The doctor was told that there was some confusion about what she wanted done.

What the doctor was apparently informed was that if she wanted the scan done she would need to use the term “CHEST TISSUE” instead of “Breast tissue.” Or it would not happen.

SO… Basically my mom ‘s health care is being held hostage by gender nazis.

Mamdani belongs to a class of people referred to as "red diaper babies" They have been soaking in this ideology since birth, and are raised in private schools to insulate them from reality. Generally they will spend a semester or two in a public school just so they can claim they have been there and "understand."

It's similar to the unpaid interns that go home on the weekends to get their laundry done and get groceries. They claim to understand poverty because they had to eat top ramen occasionally while living in the apartment in NYC that mom and dad paid for.

Communism has caused more death and suffering than any ideology in history.

Yet we excuse it, because he looks harmless and is sooo nice.

I don’t know when “niceness” replaced character.

Sensory deprivation is a form of slow torture.
It is used to punish prisoners, and also used by cults for programming members. In my opinion anyone who participates in the raising of children in a "Sad Beige" environment and not carefully managing the kids screen time are guilty of child abuse.

Yesterday I saw two tourists hiking in my local park, and neither of them was looking at the scenery around them.

They were both glued to their cellphone screens as they walked by.

It got me wondering about the programing people are doing to themselves and their children.

For example:
"Sad Beige Moms", All new buildings being ugly and grey, etc.

Combine the sad ugly drab environments with the hyper-realistic over saturated colors of modern TV and computer screens, then the real world apparently can't compete. Even McDonald's has replaced many of their playplace areas with computer tablets.

The indoctrination of children at public libraries is constant.
I gave an elderly lady that I know a ride to her local library last year because she needed to get her card renewed, and then I saw this display. Notice where it is posted, this is the side of the service counter and everything is down at child's eye level. I almost didn't see it except that I walked over to a chair in the children's section to sit and re-tie my shoelaces. I don't think the average adult walking in there would even notice it was there.

OMG! you too? I thought it was just me. After I caught that damn virus I swear I lost at least a decade somewhere. I was already managing a couple of chronic conditions, and then Covid mugged me with a baseball bat. My digestion is shot, and I never did completely get my sense of smell back, I have no appetite, and I starved off a large chunk of muscle mass without even noticing or feeling it. The weird part is the sense of smell and the appetite are intermittent. Like a short in an old radio. Every so often something will jog the circuits just right and I suddenly get a signal. I can smell food and I realize that I'm really Seriously starving. AND then it dissappears again for a week or more.

Does not work well in some quick breads, but does work in any of the kneaded yeast breads. Somewhere in my collection I have an old recipe for Challa that used powdered eggs and powdered milk. Made it a few times turned out ok.
