Traditional conservative principles would never have supported anti-vaxxers and them overstaying their permit to be on Wellington and paralizing the city.

I would agree that on many policies, they may be well grounded, but they still have the MAGA style performative/theatricals/culture wars.

Poilievre railed against the Bank of Canada governor without understand what the bank does. Just to create artificial issue and get some attention.

when Reform split ftom original conservatives, they got helped by a group called « New American Century ». This is why Preston Manning had « radical » policies by Canadian standards. New American included folks like Rumsfeld ,Wolfovitz and Cheney. Harper realized he couldn’t win that way and mellowed the party by merging with what was left of conservatives. However with Poilievre they seem ti have realigned with MAGA.

Can't read full artice. Park Cars would have been special on the Cavalier for moving carriages around and wouldn't be turned on. You were lucky.

From Montréal. there was the Cavalier at 23:30 to Toronto (equivaent left from Ottawa, and they met at Brockville, arrived 07:30 union station.

There was also the Montrealer, left about 17:30, arrived New York early morning, continued to Philadelphia and Washington. Took it a few times both ways. Had dining car with piano !
