Upscrolled is acting glitchy today because 1000s per hour are currently signing up. But they're responding to change quickly. They' e also added new features, suggested by users, at a fast rate. It's really good to see people finally joining up (I've been there for a while).

Big follower/well-known people from other platforms - including people who were suspended or shadowbanned for speaking up against injustices. This has created both a surge in sign ups and a rapid response by devs to community suggestions.

Upscrolled was created by a Palestinian Australian, with support from Palestine Tech Start Up. It has no shadowbans, no algos, no trolls, no reply guys. It has a good community vibe.

Saw my first call out of a troll today (after being there mid 2025) who was swiftly dealt with by community.

If you look towards Palestinian Australians who are actively protesting the genocide of their people - they're not anti-Semitic or hateful, they don't belittle Jewish Australian's valid views. They welcome Jewish people into the liberation movement, and they mourned beside Jewish people post-Bondi massacre.

The movement is not driven by hate, it's a solidarity movement led by Palestinian people, and supported by Jewish, Arab, Muslim, Indigenous people...and more.

But on Mastodon over the past few days, white lefties in Australia are shamelessly posting offensive and erroneous feelopinions, with no evidence or factual sources. Just their bigoted opinions about Jewish Australians, wrapped up in misinformation. They're clearly not following the lead of people in the anti-genocide/ Palestinian liberation movement that have lived experience, front-line experience.

These posts are too often anti-Semitic. Even if the intent comes from a good place, it's still anti-Semitism. Log off, read a book, catch a film/documentary, listen to Palestinian people and Jewish supporters; boost more, talk less. Because right now, you're harming the liberation movement.

And yes, I am that author who had a big literary prize taken away by the government, for supporting Palestine, and has been hounded by the media and ill-intent lobbyists since mid 2023. This just make me increase my solidarity.

Don't let them divide us! Solidarity is important. None of us are free until all of us are free!

I'd flown to Brisbane for the event, only to be told that morning, in a brief meeting. I was not provided with much context as to my perceived wrongdoings.

The Black & Write program (writing Fellowship plus editorial internships), along with other invaluable literary programs for First Nations writers, is now under review.

I read this mother's testimony late last night, and couldn't get to sleep until nearly dawn. It still haunts me.

And before genocide apologists scream "misinformation" or report me for anti-Semitism - Motasem A Dalloul is a trusted journalist, with proven integrity and experience of working on the front line. And there is nothing in his post that is unbelievable. The state of Israel has shown the world over and over again how depraved their hate, racism and violence is. And that's just what they've shown us - boasted about, even - what is happening behind the scenes is of course far far worse.

This horrific event reminds me of what colonisers did to Aboriginal people: decapitating babies after burying them up to their necks, running people down with horses and later cars (this still occurs), taking children from their parents and abusing them, etc. It is no wonder we stand firmly in solidarity with other Indigenous peoples, including Palestinians.

Earlier this year, many of you contributed to Ahmed Issa's crowdfund (who'd I met at Palestine Writes festival last year), to help him and his young family escape from the genocide. Sha'aban al-Dalo, the young man that Israel murdered with fire yesterday, was a student supported by this Scholarships for Gaza. Shaaban had earlier been injured in a bombing attack when he was sheltering outside of al-Asqa hospital. He was then treated, stitches and an IV, and was once again sheltering in a tent outside of the hospital. Israel then burnt him alive. The world watched Shaaban's last - excruciatingly painful - moments.

We've all seen the latest horrific images by now, and heard the testimonials. There are no more excuses, no more cover ups, no more reasons not to demand the end of Israel's extreme violence.

Last night (their time), Israel set alight to tents that had been set up outside al-Aqsa hospital in Deir al-Balah. Inside these tents, Palestinian people who'd been displaced by Israel's constant attacks on Gaza were sleeping. Days prior, Israel had cut off the food supply and other essential services in that region of northern Gaza. Israel purposely set fire to tired, injured, hungry homeless children, women and men.

This was undoubtedly a holocaust. And it's not the first holocaust that Israel has committed in the past year. These holocausts aren't The Holocaust. They're a series of never-ending holocausts that Israel is wantonly committing. And Israel won't stop committing holocausts - they need to be stopped.

Holocaust: destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war. From ancient Greek, meaning ‘burnt offering’.

Edit: The term holocaust was used before WWii to describe massacres by fire, because this has been a common method of committing mass atrocities. Settlers in so-called Australia also used fire to massacre First Peoples, for example. The Holocaust of WWii is sometimes capitalised, while other holocausts are not. Using a word that has existed for eons to appropriately describe what Israel is doing to Palestinian people does not trivialise the horrific inhumanities of the Holocaust. If being forced to think about holocausts occurring, right now in Palestine, makes you uncomfortable - then I suggest you sit with that discomfort and reflect, then raise your voice against those that commit holocausts.

As Northern Territory population is approx. 40% Aboriginal people, this change will impact Indigenous children.

The events of the past 24 hours are not uncommon. Indigenous communities experience a constant cycle of death, grief, activism, failed justice. Across this continent, settler-colonial violence is never ending.

This cruel, selfish and delusional person is not a "leftie". There's a lot of good points in this Australian report, and might be useful for #FediMods and #FediAdmin when dealing with reports about anti-Arab racism, Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism.

The Solutions at the end of the report are simple, and I think reflect many Instances' values and rules.

a. Promote equal worth and dignity of all people, and universal

discriminate against others.
