I must confess I was VERY skeptical about anyone filling in for Adam Clark Curry (npub13cj…xnnm) and John C Dvorak (npub1xwr…3chj) – but Darren (npub12y3…05cn) and That LARRY SHOW (npub19f6…n48s) surpassed any expectation I could have had. Those journalists didn't demand unrestricted access to the Pentagon. They had limited access the Pentagon gave them in return for their compliance in publishing its POV with rarely any criticism. As for licensing: His blocklists for Mastodon, Pleroma etc. are provided under CC-BY-SA - so, he doesn't see them as a software issue, but as a COPYRIGHT issue.

Yesterday I realized Moshidon, my favorite Mastodon client, started blocking NAS this past week. I uploaded an issue on GitHub to ask if it was intentional. The answer is scary: It is, and Moshidon is one of many apps to do so. They've blocked over 150 servers already, many of which are totally harmless (and that's beside the point, actually).

This means developers have taken the whole idea of federation and flushed it down the woke toilet. It's a huge blow for us.
