Has anyone seen an electroluminescent display like this before? Made in 1984 by Phosphor Products Ltd, Poole, Dorset. Lights up orange/yellow at about 75V DC. But what was it for?

BC559 is a PNP, so is Vcc supposed to be negative? But if that was the case, the diodes are reversed. So it looks like the transistor is wrong
