I've come to loathe clicking on #Bluesky links almost as much as X links.
I don't know what kind of frontend hell they are cooking up there but it takes up to 10 seconds to load a post, sometimes, where I have to stare at that bird that morphed into a butterfly.

this is an excellent example that the option to repair is not always easy though. I won't blame some people for skipping that option in many cases. I would TOTALLY blame the manufacturers though.

... But ok, this case wasn't the worst. The batteries were not even soldered. Do you think one of those tiny phone repair shops would have tried it? I'd feel way more comfortable with one of them trying it than me.
(I replaced a touch glass once and without a proper heat gun I made a mess)

Plus if something is that egregious (I am not familiar with the example in question, I am behind on my drama diet) the internet will remember it somehow (internet archive, various Caches, etc) and the fact of the content being gone from its canonical location, for whatever reason (pressure, retraction...) *is* part of the story.

The purity zealots (no AI no cars no software that isn't built on a full moon with a priest from the church of Gnu overseeing) make me spend less and less time here.
Don't you have similar issues on your videos comments?

(I am still pro fediverse more than average person, I consider "the magic of fediverse" quirks a small price to pay to have a platform whose rug can't be pulled from under half a billion people like twitter. But it's exhausting)
