There should be age inclusive playgrounds for adults and kids, with equipment durable enough for all ages. It's boring that adults are expected to sit down and watch their kids and not get to play and let loose. I think as a society we need to denormalize society's gradual process of beating out the carefree and playfulness of children, making them into adults who hate children and fun and into slaves, and stop shaming people for expressing themselves and being themselves, being happy and doing whatever doesn't hurt anyone.

Its so weird not being as suicidal as before, I still think me being dead is ideal and if it happened to me I guess I'd welcome it but it feels so wrong not being so actively into it like I used to. Some irritating things I notice that antis (and some paras) do that are the most common and normalized forms of ageism is the belief that young people are inherently bad at things, downplaying and denying youth's capabilities due to personally feeling like youth in general or that your younger self was/is stupid (e.g. "I was just a stupid teenager", "kids don't know how to do ___", "I didn't know better because I was ___ at the time", "you're obviously 14") and due to adult mistakes (e.g. "this website works like shit..feels like a 6yo made it", "grow up, you should know better as an adult") with the assumption that...legal adults can and MUST inherently do no wrong. Because if you display certain qualities like being entitled, arguing with someone, doing badly at something, complaining etc., that's something only someone young does and can't improve from and if you're an adult you automatically are better than that and shouldn't do that. Because you lived this random number of years. And if you're a mature kid or teens, that's also somehow bad too because...you're a kid go play or something. Because youth can't or shouldn't be serious and responsible, only adults. What's even more disturbing is how much antis are insanely jealous of youth, while simultaneously demeaning them/grooming them into accepting they're worthless and braindead. We have anti-aging creams, plastic surgery. We have makeup that can make you look decades younger. I wish more paras and more youth in the world realized this because when you see just how shitty things are for youth, how others treat youth...you can't unsee it. Antis want young people to feel powerless. Want them uninformed. Want them weak and on their knees for adults. Want them to feel worthless due to their age. It's not because there really are things you can't tell or teach someone who's young or something, a lot of it is because, what if youth get "too" powerful? What if youth made every older person look stupid? Most legal adults, I believe, would be uncomfortable or terrified if youth exercised their full capabilities and advocated for themselves. It's a fact that youth are essentially considered as and made to be the property to the state and their guardians, so thinking of them as anything more than a punching bag is some evil, "creepy" thing but if you beat it to youth that they're worthless, brainless, and subhuman, and beat out any last ounce of their child self, that's totally okay. Being young does not equate to being deficient in every way nor does being an adult equate to being perfect in every way.

Hello pedi. Here is one of the Youthlib posters I created. This is the 2nd version; the first version I cannot post here. I added a graphic in order to give perspective as to why this is an issue. I was inspired to make some posters like this as not only have I been abused by my parents this way but many youth have, and I've been repeatedly seeing people normalizing corporal punishment/physical "discipline" and making light of it. Ask a random person how old they would want to be ideally and if they could stay that age forever, if they would. My dad once said he would want to return to his mid 20s.
Often I've heard from antis that the main reason they'd not want to actually return to being a kid is not because their appearance would be more youthful. But because they don't want to be restricted and unable to lead their own lives. Because then they could not truly live. But I bet you if you ask them to consider how much of a horrible thing that is actually, that being a kid or teenager in this day and age comes with being oppressed, they would say that it's okay actually because kids are not like adults and are not "mature" or "developed enough" to receive equal treatment like legal adults do (which funnily enough is not always true, as still being 19, I have often still been mistreated for being young).
I think most people do realize, in some way, that being under 18 comes with being mistreated and likened to as a subhuman, to be toyed with like Barbies and made out like pawns by society and the government. But they also do not want to think about or admit how unsettling it really is, that young people ARE treated like this. To be a child or a young adult, is in a lot of antis eyes a terrible fate, due to their own biases against youth such as thinking youth are inherently immature and that being young means "you don't know any better" and the realization that youth are prohibited from really participating in life, and REALLY getting to live.

A lot of the reason this hellthread situation is problematic is due to the One-upmanship fallacy. That youth ageism isn't legitimate enough like black slavery is. That it isn't a problematic enough thing. Giving each other gold medals for somehow misinterpreting everything my boyfriend and I said and twisting us as the bad guys even though the post was simply noting the similarities between slavery and what youth are going through. The reason it seems babies born from two closely related individuals never turn out healthy is mainly due to bad genetics, especially GENERATIONS of bad genetics. I think it's something we as YAPs should know better not to say or believe. I know I have my moments where I accidentally think things like this, but that doesn't make it any less wrong. We are living in a dystopian age where everything is controlled. Kids and teens are stripped off their rights, and legal adults are now feeling the heat of what youth go through. More and more states, countries, companies etc are opting for age verification, underage bans on social media, and slowly but surely are taking away our right to privacy. At this point, even asking..begging your legislators to do something won't do anything as they are led to believe this shit is okay. If that bothers you, do something. Even just raising awareness, even the littlest best of awareness, even just speaking up about it, is enough. The time to do activism is now. Remember looking up something like "why tf can't teens consent to their own shit anyway?" And then I get some search results that say that teens are not considered mentally capable making their own decisions. Broke down that day. Months of buildup. When you enlighten yourself over how kids and teens are treated you start seeing it everywhere, because it is. The ageism is so obvious and so rampant. It is in display in almost every media piece and in real life. What used to be nothing to you since everyone called you and treated you as someone inherently inferior as a younger person anyway is now something you can't escape from and can't help noticing. If we're referring to manipulation in general then we don't need to use "grooming", just use manipulative or toxic... if we're referring to teaching, that would probably make more sense or honestly the word teaching already works. Sexuality doesn't harm kids. Shame, internal stigma, guilt, people's negative reactions to it and society's prevailing youth-exclusionary attitudes do. That shit only leads to kids growing up feeling ashamed of themselves...their desires, their bodies. Or ashamed of others. Or judgy. Or repulsed and disgusted by sex. Deprived of proper sex education. So many of us grow up so horribly misinformed of sex and our bodies or made ignorant. God even after masturbating I didn't even know what a clit was or where mine was for years. Or the fact that I have two holes or that funny feeling I thought was a weird horny sensation but was actually a UTI.
We need to bring real sexual freedom of choice, education (e.g. teaching contraceptive methods, reproductive methods, how to know when/if you're ready, body anatomy) and pleasure and love back to the world. For EVERYONE! Sexuality isn't just limited to legal adults.
