We had Longs in Phoenix too. I sometimes find some random old things that still have a Longs price tag on them. Up here we had Bartells, which was a great local chain with lot of local products. Bought out by Rite Aid, then they all became CVS when Rite Aid went under. Now we're stuck with shitty Walgreens & CVS as our only options.

Nice! I know a couple of people who were immuno-suppressed who got theirs early. Our school nurse is really pushing vaccines, esp. the MMR vax, but also the shingles vax because we've had more unvaccinated kids around, complete with a chicken pox party that mostly involved students at a nearby "christian" school, but whom some of our kids/families came in contact with in the community.

It's a pain-in-the-ass because we have to dig all the stuff out, scan the barcode onto our sheet, & submit it. What's alarming is that everything the district provides is on one counter, & the rest of the stuff in my classroom is stuff I purchased - easily $5K+ worth of books, math manipulatives, clipboards, whiteboards, scissors, shelving, posters, etc.

I'm sure you're right. About 25 years ago, a friend & I were backpacking near Priest Lake, ID when we ran into one of those crazies who ordered us off "his" USFS land or he'd shoot us. A US friend actually had trouble coming back into the US a couple of weeks ago near Blaine. She was asked to hand over & unlock her phone & refused. She has a Nexus card, but they still hassled her. She was there for ~3 hrs. When the next round of agents came on shift, they let her go. I don't think she'll be going back up to BC that way now. She'll probably take Amtrak up next time & see if she's hassled that way.

I used to work with a teacher who was pregnant & was exposed to rubella by a student at my school - whole family was RW "christian" & anti-vax - & her baby was born deaf & had other birth defects.
