Because you can pass the function pointer around, and talk about its possible outputs, yeah? (since the compiler knows its return type)
CNJ:> That bit at the end where you talk about enforcing all cases looks a lot like what zig and rust do with their match statements.

QRY:> Is a "representational type" then like in zig (or in C++'s uncogly template metaprogramming) where you can write code that discusses the possible types of other things?
EXA:> So like a variable that holds the type information of a function would have a representational type?

ERR:> "reification" still doesn't quite make sense
CNJ:> I think I'd need to see lots of examples.

OUT:> You provided a lot more information than I expected, I think I got a lot out of this. CNJ:> Narrowed the VR issue down to one of two things.
CNJ:> It's possible that my quest has decided that I'm no longer authorized to use unauthorized software ("developer" [STINKY_WORD] mode disabled somehow), at which point I have to use their stupid fucking PC app (which of course only has a windows port) to re-enable it.
ERR:> I am not reinstalling microslop windows just for something that may not even work, that'd be insane.

CNJ:> The other option is to just accept that it's _broken_ and unpin my WiVRn server on my PC, (a virtual desktop/SteamVR replacement) use the approved up-to-date WiVRn version, which has some of the most atrocious "modern" disgusting round-edged UI I've ever seen.
ERR:> The real problem with option two is that unpinning means I now have to keep my PC server updated with my headset client, because HEAVEN FORBID meta let me launch an outdated piece of software. That client will forcibly auto-update forever, and my server BETTER keep up.

ANG:> I hate this so much. VR was a salve for my mental. I could just go be visibly bobot for a while and relax.
ERR:> I was so excited to test my new model out, I was RIGHT THERE to be able to take it for a spin.
ERR:> Now I can't even use the results of this THREE YEARS of off-and-on work without going around my elbow to get to my ass.
ERR:> All because of course meta won't stop and ask for consent before ramming their dogshit software down my throat.
ANG:> Fuck.
