I agree with your diagnosis, but I disagree with your treatment. You are doing the same mistake I did when I implemented content mirroring on alien.top: you are putting out so much automated "content" that outsiders will look at this and think the community is just a place for you to dump links.

Also, please drop the main character syndrome and the "Reddit agent" paranoia. You have multiple people here telling you that your approach is harmful to the groups that are **already here**. It's not a conspiracy. Reddit doesn't care about you.

I still believe that getting access to sports news and commentary would be one of the sure-fire ways to get more people in the Fediverse. But even after all these years, Reddit, Twitter and Instagram obviously completely dominate the space.

In the US, the NFL is starting in a couple of weeks and the NBA will come back in October. There is also the European Football (Soccer) leagues which started this month, so the thought came to mind again: what could we have that could make the conversation around professional sports more interesting...

- Specific apps or sites that act as a multi-platform client, to let you follow short clips from Loops, or posts from specific communities or athletes?

- Real time scores and match threader bots?

- A (local, user-controlled) recommendation algorithm to manage different news sources?

- Integration with fantasy leagues?

Maybe I am barking at the wrong tree and/or the majority of people here do not care about it enough, but I would like to hear some ideas to see if there is anything we could do.

I will say the same thing I said when I was trashed for running the alien.top bots: it's not *spam* if the content is relevant to the community and if it's posted at an acceptable rate.

The communities I am seeing get at most one post per day from these bots, and all the links seem to be related. It is far from being called a "spammer", and by adding content to the niche communities they provide a lot more value to the Fediverse than the terminally online who do nothing but complain about the others and/or only post about Trump and politics.
