yeah that's fair. I guess "actually distributed" would be nice, although you'd need some way of actually ensuring replication. Maybe the right goal here would be "all of the project details exist in the repository alongside the code"? It's easy enough to publish a git repository to some other host, but the issues/pull requests/etc are much harder.

I wonder if LLVM has an output abstraction layer and zig just has a really dumb implementation of it? I am curious about how many times it's actually calling write(0, …), though!

Even on Windows—which has the worst default behavior—output is buffered in chunks of 1KB or so. Is something in there really writing a byte at a time to stdout without buffering???
