indeed :( I spent way too much of this decade under/unemployed and so many tech companies just periodically raze their IT/Security teams. I managed to luck out and get a role supporting an Apple MDM product I’ve liked for the last decade. I kinda miss having my own fleet of hardware, but no more on call so that is a win

🥲 spread your net far and wide and try to apply the same day jobs go up if you can. Everyone’s job postings get flooded with slop submissions now and it’s a nightmare from all sides. Empathy and solidarity, from a millennial who has been around too many layoffs

I have gone down too many #fountainpens rabbit holes on one of the algorithm video apps and discovered that white fountain pen ink exists…
So I ordered it and loaded up my Fudé nibbed Sailor with it.

🤣 now I can finally use this black paper notebook, and if I try to draw daily in October I’ve got some potentially interesting additional options (it’s not super opaque so it can’t be used for corrections over dark inks, but it adds a white cast on top

(Ink is white de Atramentis document ink)

First bottle of diamine (celadon cat) and three more Rober Oster inks added to my #fountainpens ink collection. 🫣 I’m almost out of swatch cards, I need to get more

Also super excited to have bondi blue, now I can do nerdy late 90s Mac drawings (it’s really similar to apple’s bondi blue for the iMacs and G3 towers)

The Mac nerd x #fountainpens nerd intersection of ordering Robert Oster Bondi Blue ink. Yeah I’m gonna need to use it in a demonstrator pen. 🤔 I wonder if lamy makes the right color of feed body for the safari line to match late 1990s Apple bondi blue….

The #ActuallyAutistic comfort of spending some time cleaning out some #fountainpens — my lamy Scala and safari vista are both flushed out and fully cleaned. Now the great and delightful terror is picking which inks to refill them with out of my ink collection. Dare I load up the Scala with a shimmer or modern lamy dark lilac?

Also dear god current lamy dark lilac is a goddamn mess to get out of pens.

🫣 and a local pen shop is running a one day sale for Saint Patrick’s day an whoops I’m going to get a couple more pens I’ve been eyeing with nibs I like

so my buddy macdude22 (npub1my6…9fje) came to visit this summer and look long story short we ended up rescuing a bunch of local MUG magazines from 1990-1993 and they had backup tiger as a space filler if there weren’t enough ads sold that month

Anyway enjoy some back up tigers from PMUG’s early 1990s Mouse Tracks monthly magazines

🥹 It's been two years since I helped my sweet goober child Jasper over the rainbow bridge.

I still miss you you sweet weirdo, who growled at strangers when I met you at the humane society mere seconds after purring and rubbing your face on my eyebrow on the day I met you and we both decided you'd be my cat.

I'm grateful I got to give you seven years of companionship, and I hope you've forgiven me for adopting the dog in 2019.

Five years ago at about 6PM I got to adopt Coop from a humane society about 30min south of where I live. This was one of his very first photos from getting home.

He is such a glorious precious goober and I love him so much. #DogsOfMastodon
