At 2am, #ShadowCat ran through my bedroom with an enormous rat in his mouth. He released the very alive rat in the lounge. So there we were, a cat, a rat, and a naked woman armed with a bokken (wooden practice sword) and an unreasonable high heart rate. The rat found the gap behind the fixed gas heater, which is impossible to access. The only option was to open the external sliding door, shut the inside doors, and hope it left in what was left of the night.
I got maybe 2 hours sleep 😴 😭

Had to tell a golf bud to stop trying to talk politics with me today. She'd decided we'd find common ground on Elon Musk being a great guy. When I asked her why she thought I'd like a fascist, who's disowned his own trans chid, she looked at me weird and said, 'I guess you like that Kamala woman too?' (Keep in mind, we live in Aotearoa- so doubly strange) I just said yes, and told her to stop. How, after 5 years, has she not figured out how different we are?
