I'm believing that Pavi is actually the Dark Avatar rather than Nisha. Pavi is shown to be more intune with the spiritual side of things, and the previous goal of the Dark Avatar was to unite the spiritual and material worlds.

Plus the obvious theming with the cats speaks to a twist in my opinion. Pavi has a Light cat and Nisha has a Dark cat. So we're primed to think Pavi is Light and Nisha is dark, when they might be the inverse.

it could also be that, Cain was in full control of their environment AND them, as he's shown to be the source of the profanity filter and he's the one who's given them those bodies. So Abstraction has an origin in him since he's shown as abstracting when he was being developed before he killed Abel (the blue dot) and absorbing them. yeah such a weird decision. Frankly I feel like the spots should be reversed. I feel like Phantom is more thematically sound as a required boss (even her lore fits her being a gatekeeper) and Last Judge belongs in sinner's road. Last Judge feels more like an optional boss than phantom.

Plus, Phantom's runback is SO much more reasonable.

I think its an Okay Game. But a lot of what's holding it back for me is the Tedium. The runbacks are tedious. The quests are tedious. The ENDLESS NO REASON GAUNTLETS are tedious. It definitely feels like some of the magic from Hollow Knight is lost. Lots of the lore and world building feels disjointed so far.

A lot of your criticisms are absolutely correct. They didn't rebalance the game for anyone who wasn't super hardcore 100% True Ending Hollow Knight players I feel. The Difficulty did NOT curve the same way, the growth doesn't feel the same, a lot of the upgrades are locked behind very tedious challenges or weird questlines. I don't feel the same sense of wonder from Hollow Knight.

My favorite thing about people's complaints about Mastodon is that they have the same complaints about Bluesky. Like almost the exact same.

A big reason they chose Bluesky is because it just requires less effort imo. You can just post and not have to interact with other people and gain traction. On Mastodon you get ignored for that.

yeah I'm not super far into the game but one thing I will say is that the difficulty feels arbitrarily raised by just having bosses deal two damage. This game so far feels a LOT less forgiving than Hollow Knight such isn't always bad. But at times it's just super frustrating trying to navigate a flight where my first instinct is "Is the game telling me I should go somewhere else first?"

yeah I'm noticing something similar for Anthrocon (though I didn't plan to go until last month but my friends were talking about rooms). There's a bunch of single rooms open in some of the hotels just no doubles. I'd probably be rooming solo anyways so it'd work for me. As long as the commute from hotel to con isn't long.

It is funny that it's the same convention center as MiR.
