Good to see OpenAlex is investing in supporting systematic search, important for executing searches for systematic and scoping reviews: https://blog.openalex.org/openalex-api-new-features-and-usage-based-pricing/. ingests into its index metadata of all publications with a DOI, and with its extension pack (xpac) now also metadata of publications deposited in institutional repositories and huge numbers of other materials with DOIs, such as datasets. Pubs without DOIs and not in repositories might still be missing.

The only options to follow what's going on at my own (Utrecht) university are through big US, Trump abiding commercial tech companies: Meta (Facebook, instagram), Alphabet (Youtube) and Microsoft (LinkedIn). OK, we ditched X, but that is not enough. Do you know examples of universities that do much better in this regard? What are the best practices? Can we have a thread here of institutions that (fully) moved to Mastodon, Peertube, ...? Also interested in their explicit motivations to do so.
