It had been sitting in there for weeks, if not months, untouched and inked up with ESS Registrar&#39;s, an iron gall ink. The converter has dark residue stuck all along its inside, but there was a little bit of liquid ink remaining. So I did the unwise thing and &#34;dirty filled&#34; it with the same ink again, without cleaning pen or converter first. And it just writes. Time will tell if that&#39;s just the ink in the section or if the pen just doesn&#39;t care about being forgotten with iron gall ink inside. It&#39;s a cheap pen I can always just buy another one of if needed, but so far it is the one that has been coping with iron gall ink and almost no maintenance whatsoever.<br/><br/>So if you&#39;re looking for an affordable fountain pen that doesn&#39;t mind ESS Registrar&#39;s or Diamine Registrar&#39;s iron gall ink, the Online Slope is the one you wanna get, plus any regular international cartridge converter. I&#39;m not sure if they sell it with any choice of nib size. I love being gentle with my child. I love giving my child all the emotional support they need. My child doesn&#39;t want to intentionally annoy or harm me. Even if they really really wanted to, their brain isn&#39;t developed enough to enable them to do it.<br/><br/>Anyway, kiddo loves the dishwasher. Putting dirty things in, taking clean things out, they love it! This morning, we put the clean stuff out of the dishwasher into the cupboards and, to the little one&#39;s disappointment, we didn&#39;t have enough dirty stuff to put back in to start the thing again right away.<br/>We have child friendly labels with drawn example pieces of trash on our bins, based on local recycling regulations. Kiddo loves putting trash in the right bin. And they already know where most things go just a couple of weeks after we put the labels on the bins.<br/>My child enjoys the little things in life and I&#39;ll let them participate as much as they want, as long as it is not dangerous. Sharp knives are my job to take out of the dishwasher, for example. But dull butter knives and forks and all that, kiddo knows how to handle them safely.<br/><br/>I enjoy this part of parenting a lot. Helping my child help themselves, teaching them things that they&#39;re so proud of when they can master them on their own. Trusting in my child&#39;s abilities and at the same time always being there when they need help or run out of energy. Letting them make their own experiences even though I know what their conclusion will be. Apologizing when they say: &#34;no! I&#39;m using one with 0.7 mm lead in 2B, mostly for quick notes that don&#39;t need to stick around for a long time (I&#39;m using archival ink for more permanent things). Also, I really like that my mechanical pencil is about as thick as a fountain pen, which I find very pleasant in the hand as opposed to more skinny pens and pencils. After a brief investigation, the root cause was found in an entirely different place: the converter had ran out. I had written so much over the last couple days that the ink was just empty. No flow issues, no drying out, no hard starts.<br/><br/>Anyway, I bought this pen because it writes a touch broader than the Online Slope fountain pen. I believe they&#39;re both sold with medium nibs but the Schneider Wavy nib is a touch broader, it seems. And for the price I was willing to find out the hard way whether or not it would cope with iron gall ink. Turns out: yes, yes it does.
