1. Buy software
2. Install
3. Use

Now:
1. Buy software
2. Install installer
3. Set up online account to use software
4. Install software
5. Remove bullshit that software changed/installed, opt out of egregious privacy violating shit
6. Have features expire and get paywalled after a “introductory period”
7. Forced automatic update breaks software and you have to struggle to get it working
8. Pay for the software - again (rent-seeking models)
9. Company sells data that it gathered from you and sends you nonstop fucking emails
10. Company pulls the plug on what you bought but offers a shiny new version (for a substantial cost)

This has made me decide not to purchase various things, and just stick to what I have.
