Ambulances are trying to get through to help protestors hit by them. (And there are volunteer street medics on the streets as well.)

In Tirana, coverage is on the courthouse where the first 16 protestors arrested were charged. A defense lawyer is now giving a press conference outside. The street the Ministry of Education is on is Rruga e Durrësit, the road to Durrës, Albania's major port. It is one of the major roads out of Tirana, which has a center-hub street system with just a few streets leading out. They're probably feeling a lot of pressure from more wealthy suburban drivers (and business drivers) to get the road clear.

The reporter on the livecast, who is a half block or more away has been coughing from the tear gas.

Once there were more cops there and the water cannon, they went after protestors with nightsticks and the cannon.

While throwing sidewalk tiles was dangerous, I didn't see protestors targeting a person, but the building. The cops, however, are definitely targeting people, often 4 - 6 cops per protestor they're trying to beat or arrest.

Some protestors scaled the fence and also threw some of the uprooted fences through the windows of the Ministry of Education.

Some tear gas has been released and the cops are slowly going on the grounds between the perimeter fence and the Ministry looking to either arrest the people or to push them back onto the sidewalk and off Ministry property.

The cops have not gotten violent yet that I can see (and they've been the ones starting the violence in every other instance I've seen in the past months), but it's probably because they know they are deeply outnumbered by the students, some of whom are now throwing street tiles.

The cops are forming up for protection and erecting their riot shields.

The water cannon truck is now going.

Lots of young men there and things are escalating - property-wise.

They've torn down the permanent fence protecting the sidewalk from drivers and have piled the steel up. But some are also trying to throw that steel over the wrough iron fence of the Ministry.

They've started digging up the sidewalk tiles and breaking them into smaller pieces to throw at the Ministry of Education Building.

I've only had time to watch 12 minutes of it so far, but it seems worthwhile for knowing some of the players and incidents that happened before the #FlamingoRevolution started.

There's a lot of foreign attitude towards Albanian corruption, as if they do not have their own corruption in the EU, US, etc. I'd say the democratic traditions here are weaker and for historical reasons.

It's not like Western Europe and the US were that helpful in keeping out the vultures from their own countries who came here rushing to bring capitalism, not democratic traditions.

It is this corruption, by all the ruling parties, that the protests have been about.

However, on any given night there is less violent crime happening in Tirana than in many European capitals, IME.

Kushner's development and the private goons hired by it and how they dragged a protestor away while cops just watched was the CATALYST, not the whole reason for this sustained protest. Because it is emblematic of a long-standing problem with corruption and the powerful just grabbing public lands, especially along the coastlines and waterways.

I just saw a "Ted Lasso" scene that someone created both English and Chinese subtitles for.

And it occurred to me...In written English, you can represent when someone has an accent or dialect by how you spell what they're saying. Either by misspelling it in certain ways (French accent 'this' becomes 'zis') or by leaving off the 'g' in '-ing' words because the speaker is or using dialect words like "ain't".

But since Chinese uses pictograms, I assume it would be hard to represent a dialect that way. Is that true? Or are there other ways in writing that Chinese literature would represent an accent or dialect?
