Jason Arday found dead

Academic had resigned from the University of Cambridge last week

Jason Arday, the former University of Cambridge professor, has been found dead.

Mr Arday was found “unresponsive” at an address in Battersea, south London, on Friday afternoon. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 3.12pm on Friday.

He said: “Sadly, a 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

“At this time his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious. The case is being investigated by officers from the Met’s Central South Command Unit. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The use of gender-transition drugs among adolescents in Oregon soared between 2016 and 2023, charting a nearly 10-fold increase among biological girls and a 14-fold increase in natal boys. Across this period, about 1 in 100 insured youth ages 8 to 17 in the Pacific Northwest state were diagnosed with gender dysphoria, a psychiatric condition involving distress stemming from a conflict between an individual’s natal sex and their gender identity.

By age 17, about 1 in 240 insured natal girls were taking testosterone and about 1 in 630 natal boys were taking estrogen in Oregon. These figures are nearly three-fold higher for natal girls and nearly twice as high for natal boys as figures from a study published last year that analyzed national data on commercially insured youth from 2018 to 2022.

Dr. Natasha Johnson, a pediatrician at McMaster University, has become president of the Canadian Paediatric Society.

Dr. Johnson said at a 2022 WPATH conference that "parents' feelings" about their child's medicalized gender transition "should not be prioritized over the youth’s experience.” In other words, she argued for discounting parental objections to prescribing their children puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to treat gender dysphoria.

Dr. Johnson was instrumental in stirring up the protests against the recent systematic reviews of pediatric gender medicine out of Dr. Gordon Guyatt's lab. These protests ultimately led Dr. Guyatt and some of his colleagues to denounce their funder, the Society for Evidence Based Gender Medicine [@segm_ebm](https://bird.makeup/users/segm_ebm ), and seek to pull their names off of pending review papers, putting them in limbo.

Bari Weiss is essentially a centrist or center leftist who started a blog that swiftly became the most successful Substack, with 1.5 million subscribers and a proper media organization with dozens of employees. She previously worked as an editor at the WSJ and NYT. And yet I have seen multiple journalists, such as Evan Urquhart here, criticize her by making demonstrably false claims about her resume, claiming she essentially doesn’t have one. And to top it off, Evan oddly claims what he’s just said about her is “factual reporting.”

If you are a journalist and you want to dunk on another journalist, maybe you should make sure your reporting about them is factual.
