I think you could make a living of this. If you can crank out 160 of them a month, which is roughly 8 per day, I think you could sell these for $20 each. $19 profit if you do it all yourself. Just gotta make it trend on whatever social media. Eventually the orders will drastically outpace your production, but financially I don't see the business as being profitable if it tries to scale to demand. It is absolutely a small business, but I think as a 1 person business it's a viable highly profitable business.

Oh man. You just reminded me of the time I had to give my cat a flea bath. That was like 20 years ago, but I still remfmber I had to wrap her in a thick towel to act essentially as a cat straight jacket. I kept her head free, but everything below the neck was in a towel.

Oooooooh boy did she growl.

I hated it, but it had to be done. We got rid of those fleas. And all it cost was traumatizing my baby......and myself. Because I know she hated it. I at least made sure the water was luke warm, so she wouldn't be cold, or too hot. But still.......she HATED that bath.

Another thing I never use is laserpens. I used to. I feel bad that I ever did. It's fun, but then you learn that cats play is only stimulating their hunting drives. And since they can catch the feather on a string, they feel a sense of satisfaction for having caught it. Whereas they can't catch a red dot. So never catching it apparently gives them PTSD. They feel depressed that they can't be good hunters if they can't catch the red dot.

If you're looking for a way to stop this behavior, you grab them by the scruff of their neck. Don't worry, it doesn't actually hurt the cat. But it does trigger senses in them that they're being disciplined. So you grab the scuff of their neck, and act like your wrist is hurt. (the one they were biting/clawing, not the one you're using to grab the scruff of their neck).

Once they realize they're hurting you, and also realize you can grab them by the scruff of their neck, and are therefore more powerful than them, they'll stop doing that.

Of coarse, this is also assuming you're being a good cat parent to begin with. I see so many videos online titled "Cats go crazy" or something similiar. They aren't going crazy. Their humans are usually doing some shit to repeatedly piss off their cat. And eventually the cat says "FUCK THIS!!!" and lashes out.

As long as the cat routinely feels safe, and loved with you, the scruff thing works. If your cat feels unwelcome in it's own home, yes, it will lash out.

I don't mean like diarrhea, or any medical issue. Last night I had Chinese food. This morning when I woke up, I took a poop first thing in the morning. Just like normal.

Except it just kept going on and on and on. Instead of 2-3 minute poop, wipe and done, this just went on for like 15-20 minutes. It was never ending. Finally, it stopped, and I rested on the toilet seat, just to make sure there wasn't a round 2. But eventually I didn't feel anything more, and figured there can't be a round 2. There's nothing left in there. So I wiped, flushed and started my day.

About an hour later, I had to poop again. I had not eaten anything since I woke up. I drank a glass of water if that.

I took a second poop, which was about half the size of the first poop. Which is still like twice as much as a standard poop. I was kind of glad this one got delayed. I realized if all this had come out with the first poop, there would be a genuine concern that I may not be able to flush the toilet. It's too much.

I started thinking about the fact that Elvis died, and had 27 pounds worth of fecal matter in his system, because he was so backed up. Normally my poops are very small.

So it got me wondering. Am I backed up usually, and Chinese food does something to clean my system out? Or is the Chinese food CREATING this much poop all in one go?

Because if it's clearing out backed up poop, that's great! And also, something I should look into with a doctor. If the Chinese food is creating this much poop, then I should just stop eating Chinese food.

You're totally right though. My mind went other places. Like sci fi places. But, no, you're right. I've seen this on Lemmy. There's a community called "The Police Problem", and they show videos shot in real time as ICE does this. And I guess it would also explain why me being white, but also a child, they'd see me both as a threat, and also needing protection. It would explain the kid shoving me for opening the door, and getting scared.

So, in general, I never dream. So maybe this isn't that weird of a dream to people who are used to having weird dreams. But for me, I don't know what I'm supposed to do with this information. So I'm posting it here, so we can all laugh at how insane this dream is.

So I'm back at my childhood house that I grew up in. At the end of the driveway is a 2 car garage. That's real in real life. In real life, if you walk behind the garage, there's nothing there. It's just spiderwebs, a lot of unraked leafs, and a chain link fence that separates the properties. In the dream however, there was a doorway back into the garage. That doesn't exist in real life. So this is where things get weird.

I'm 5 years old again for some reason. I see this door behind the garage, and I go through the door. Except I don't go into the garage. Instead, I see a stairway that goes into a basement. So I start walking down the stairs, which then turns into an MC Etcher painting, and now I'm no longer going DOWN the stairs, I'm coming UP the stairs into an upside down universe.

I'm coming up to the top of the stairs, and I'm inside a house. A fairly large house. It had a kitchen, 3 different living rooms. A second floor that had about 5 bedrooms, and an attic that I never went in.

As I'm walking around this house, there are women everywhere. With babies. I'm white, but these women were ethnic of some kind. It was never explained if they were latino, or arabic. I'm really bad at knowing what ethnicity someone is, so my brain probably mashed together features of both.

These women were all living in the same house. Probably about 9 women. Most of them had babies in their arms. There were also small children running around and playing. Clearly their children. I am white and clearly not one of their children.

As I walk around I get this split sense of people living two different lives. The kids running around were playing, and any time their own kids were in the room, they'd smile, and everything was happy. Whenever I'd walk into a room with just the women, and me clearly not their child, the mood changed drastically. These women were scared, tired, and struggling. It was never explained what was happening, but they were clearly putting on a front to let their children experience happyness while they were miserable. They looked like they had all recently been in some sort of domestic abuse situation.

And as I walked around, everyone knew that I owned the house. The kids happily greeted me, and wanted to play. But I was looking for something. I was doing something important. I had no time to play. When I'd be in rooms without the kids, the women all looked at me as I had a right to be there, but also my presence made them nervous. One women had scarves wrapped around her arm, that had a spot in the middle which held back blood. I asked who did this? She didn't answer. No adult would answer me.

I wandered the house, looking for answers, but the kids would only engage me as a kid to play with, and the adult women wouldn't interact with me at all. They saw me as both a threat, and a child that needed to be protected. So they said nothing, but offered no help.

I explored the upstairs where I found a woman sitting in a chair. Not crying now, but it was clear she had recently been crying. She ignored my presence as I continued to look for whatever it was I was looking for. Scanning room by room, I never found it. So I came back downstairs.

When I walked out of the front door, I was in an entirely different neighborhood. I looked around, at streets I'd never seen before. Houses lined like a normal American street, except there was not a single car. No people. The houses windows all had full curtains blocking every window.

As I'm taking in this sight, and wondering where I even was, or how I got here, one of the kids pushed me away from the door, while another slammed the door shut. He said "We can't go out there. We can't open our door or they'll find us....."

I asked "Who?"

And that's when the dream ended.

What the hell was that all about??? On the rare occasion I do have a dream, it's either a recurring dream that I've had for 30 years, and every time I KNOW it's a dream, because I've been through this shit before, so I have fun in the dream. I'll do things I'd never do in real life, like be mean to people for no reason. Or jump off a building knowing it doesn't matter. OR I'll have a funny dream, where everything exists to entertain me.

This dream......I don't know what it was. I don't think I could classify it as a nightmare, but it just had this erie awful feeling. Like I was living in the first half of a suspense film, that I walked into 15 minutes too late. So I missed the plot explaining what was going on, and now I was just there.

I know in the end, the answer is "It was just a dream, it means nothing.", but right now, after having just woke up, my brain cannot shut up yelling "WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED???"

The irony being, my brain is the one that created ALL of that, and now it wants answers. I still want to know what the threat was. Who did all this to them. They were living in there, like multiple families. As I write this, I realize a good analogy must have been Anne Frank's family. Except they weren't Arabic, but the tone kind of fits. Imagine if them hiding in that attic, and suddenly the shop keep's son comes upstairs. They'd all be freaking out, except the kids. I don't consider Anne Frank a kid. She was 13. She knew enough of the world to know she was living in a fucked up situation. But the little kids in the attic may have had that information shielded from them. So it was kind of like that......except it was all in a house that I somehow owned despite just discovering it. And it existed in some kind of parallel universe that you access by going behind the garage of my childhood home, and going down/up a twisting set of stairs.

Guys. I think my own brain trolled me last night....I'm now sitting here, feeling terrible for what these women must have gone through. Then I have to remind myself I don't know what these women went through. It was never exactly explained....oh and also THESE WOMEN NEVER EXISTED!!!

So now I'm unclear how I should start my Saturday.

I'm hungry though.

I'm 42, no house, no retirement savings, no 401k, and no way to save for those things. Some weeks I don't have enough money to buy food.

Yes, it's true that for about 5 years my mom had it as hard, maybe harder than I do. The difference is, then she met my dad, moved in with him, her money problems disappeared. She then got a better job, with retirement options, and a 401k, and benefits.

Then she bought her own house in the 90s. The seller wasn't sure if he wanted to sell to her as a single woman. So she said "you can either sell to me, or sell to someone else. The price is the same either way. You may as well just sell now, rather than waiting for the next buyer."

THATS the speech that got her the house.

Today, you'd get laughed at.

My biggest problem with boomers isn't their selfish nature, or the fact that they've had an easy life. My biggest problem is that they refuse to admit that times have changed. I CAN'T live life the way boomers did. I'd LOVE to wear a suit, walk into a business, demand to see the manager before I even fill out an application and talk myself into a job. I'd LOVE to do that......but thats not how it works anymore! Now you fill an application out online, submit it to an AI crawler that steals your data, be in competition with 500 other applicants, and most of the time never hear back.

I asked my brother in law 10 years ago if he could get me a job at his fortune 500 company. He works there, he's not the owner, but I was asking him to put in a good word, get my application even looked at.

He's my age, and this was said right in front of my mom. He said "I couldn't do that. That would be nepotism". I said "Yeah. I'm fine with nepotism if it means I canpay my bills."

And my mom asked if I wanted her to storm the corporate offices of Progressive Insurance, and hunt down the CEO for an interview.

So I just said yes. Not because I think it would work, but because I knew she'd fail spectacularly. Maybe even get arrested on a light charge. Then maybe she'd realize how times change.

But she just said "I can't always fight your battles for you. This is something YOU need to do."

God dammit.

I'm thinking a community driven open source project. Maybe it could connect to PiHole somehow? Basically if anything is AI in any way, it blocks you from accessing it.

So, lets say you click a youtube video. The blocker would quick scan the URL, compare it against it's database, and as long as the profile for that URL doesn't come back with any flags, it lets you through. If it lets you through and it's still AI, YOU can report it back to the database with a click of a button, and now anyone else who ever visits that URL for that youtube video, with the blocker installed ,will instead get a screen that says "The page you are attempting to access has been reported as AI." Then you could scroll the list of reports, and choose to load the page anyways, or go back.

If you choose to load the site anyways after being warned, you can still give a report. Maybe this URL doesn't have many reports, and maybe some are lacking or outdated. You could add your report. Then when you submit it, it would be more helpful to future visitors. Maybe the okl site had some issue and they got a report. And then 10 years later, the report has the innitial report from 10 years ago, which was true at the time. The site has since relaunched or redesigned. And whatever AI was there has been removed. Or changed. You could include that the AI reports are no longer valid. This triggers a vote the next 10 people vote on whether to remove the flags from this profile. It would require 10 community members to all vote remove. If it's a mixed result, the flag stays. If all 10 vote remove, the flag is deleted and no longer considered to be made with AI.

And you as the user can choose which level of AI you're willing to tolerate. Me personally, no AI please. None at all. No images made with AI. No Youtube scripts written by AI even if they're performed and edited by real people. If even the script is AI written, no. Maybe you're ok with a human performed AI written script. That's how you'd set your settings, and you wouldn't get the flag screen. I don't want to see that video, so I'd set my settings my way, and I'd see the flag screen.

And there would be dates, but not usernames. The program knows who said what, but that information isn't publically shown, and no account is needed to write a flag report. So you could see context of how long it's been for things, but you can't become famous just because you set a bunch of false flags.

Oh, I guess we should think about how to cat and mouse the bad actors.

Ok, what if instead of flagged URLs aren't immediately flagged. They're reviewed similarly to removing a a flag. 100 users will have to vote. 80% yes needed to create a flag. My logic is, that way you can't have a bunch of trolls flagging every website they see. More users vote to diminish each voting power. 80% requirement instead of 100% to cancel out the votes of trolls.

I figure trolls are going to want to flag everything, but probably won't want to de-flag anything. So there's more leniency there, to bother less users.

Not sure why people are downvoting you. I didn't find your post to be snooty, or degrading. I just see someone who's trying to help another human be a better human. I've always been a terrible speller. You can always tell when I type something out on my phone rather than my PC with mechanical keyboard. In this case I've just had the wrong spelling in my head, but if this were on PC it would have given me the red squiggle line, just as it's doing right now with the word "downvoting".

"Vacuum" is correct, and I'm not arguing that, but even just looking at it, my brain says "No, that's wrong.....it looks wrong...."

My brain does that all the time with words. In this case, I still think it looks wrong, but there are times I'll spell a word correctly, think it looks wrong. Try again with a different spelling, and that looks wrong too because it is. Then try every version I can think of. Eventually I give up, and use google to spell check, and turns out it was right the first time, but still looks wrong. That's not what happened here, but it happens daily. I'm 42, and spelling is something I've always struggled with.

Another way I misspell words is my cell phone will hit S instead of A, or W instead of S, or COMPLETELY ignore the fact I hit the space bar, which will join together two unrelated words.

So yeah, I do appreciate the correction, because it helps me make yet another mental note of what I'm actually wrong about. Words I initially misspelled in this post:

In the 1950s, before I was born, my dad was a child of about 8 years old.

My grandfather was a traveling vacume salesman. He'd travel the country, and sell vacumes door to door. There's 365 days in a year, and he was generally home for about 14 of those days. Never together. Just an average of about 1 day a month he was home. Sometimes 2 days, but not back to back.

My grandmother wanted to spend some time with her husband, whom she loved deeply. So she requested he take a vacation with her, and their 4 children. So he put in the time off request, and was granted a 3 week break in the upcoming summer.

Now my family, both grandparents, and all 4 of their children are all white. But our last name is a name that you would assume is a black persons name. I still think it seems like a name that can be any race, but I've been consistantly told by black people, that I shouldn't have my name, because I'm white. So I guess the common consensus is that my name is a black name.

Back in the 1950s, the way travel worked was very different. Today, you log onto a travel website, you book your own hotel, you compare deals, ect. Back then, none of that. Instead you could use a real estate agent which cost more, or you could do what my grandfather did. He went to the library, requested information on books about Myrtle Beach resorts. Then from there he called the hotel directly. When he talked to a hotel in Myrtle Beach
City, they told him they would sent him an information packet in the mail. He would need to select the dates, the number of rooms, and number of guests. Which would be 6. Then the information packet would tell him how much his stay would cost, and he would use the postage included envelope to mail back his check, and a letter written to the hotel manager requesting stay. He mailed it off. A week or two later he gets what he thinks is his acceptance letter in the mail confirming the reservation. Instead he gets his check back, with the word "VOID" stamped on it. And a letter from the hotel manager.

They take the photo and without saying a word my grandfather stormed inside to find this old timey quill and ink. He hand writes a reply. In cursive. Using a quill and ink which is VERY apperent that it's not standard cheap ink pens.

And a week later, he sent them that hand written letter, and the photo. They went on that vacation at a different hotel.

That hotel was torn down in the 1970s. My grandpa said his three greatest accomplishments in life were 1) Marrying my grandma 2) Sending that letter 3) Living through Normandy. In that order.

My point is, you can always seek alternatives. By still buying the product anyways, you're actually doing harm by writing the letter now. At this point it only serves to prove to them that it's worth it. They can trick the majority, but also even the people who aren't fooled may not take the $2 worth of scam....but they'll still buy the product. This just proves there is no downside for them.

Will you alone make a difference by not buying the thing? No. But you also have no principal in the situation. You're mad, but still giving them money, so why would they stop? Maybe if more people in this world still held to their principals, collectively we start telling the world that they don't run the show. They can stop scamming, or go out of business.

But by still buying the product, you give all that away.

You'd be amazed at what I don't know.
