Avoid the American remake. I could have sworn there were a lot more there, but I cannot find much right now (I don't have BrittBox at the moment). 2025-08-16T12:02:14Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqst2cqnuxl84rwsucg9myc5dq0u5x2rxth7mvvhtc8znvkdrzql6rqzyrph42jtrw0qfmn6zsp3as28rpndm3hz90gyr32tvs2ugnd89ca3xz6jhry Periodic reminder that EU did not mandate cookie popups.
Cookie popups are yet another example of malicious complience by an industry that wants to use and abuse data about us all. 2025-08-12T07:21:14Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsfq3jlvhsr6rckd0a38zns0nrjhzhncr33jctm3wtfn3w77v8mh9czyrph42jtrw0qfmn6zsp3as28rpndm3hz90gyr32tvs2ugnd89ca3x6lqlj2 I'm reading "A Stranger in a Strange Land". I've never read any Heinlein before. It is really dated. It does have some interesting ideas. But they tend to get a bit lost in apparent misogyny and retro futurism.
I'm only a quarter into the book, so it might get better.
#book #scifi 2025-07-29T09:08:49Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqswlvcpzzskknhdzuytc73ad623wunp6pe5kla80c9vttey2vmcr4gzyrph42jtrw0qfmn6zsp3as28rpndm3hz90gyr32tvs2ugnd89ca3xdjxmd5 We need a European credit card or similar mode of payment. Then it is only a matter of time before that someone will conclude that the problem can only be solved by a LLM. 2025-05-21T07:44:23Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsgm64sswrtn42shlpr0vj3ftt0l6n6xpj5v96awq8cz42gcsdh6jqzyrph42jtrw0qfmn6zsp3as28rpndm3hz90gyr32tvs2ugnd89ca3xcz3gt0 Well, look at that. My favourite actually won. That does not happen often in the #eurovision song contest.
I also have a strong urge to rewatch The 5th Element. 2025-05-17T23:20:36Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs9saampunuxaw99gscp70g2fjt9sk8ae4nyfr3d8km2ygmmaqz7nczyrph42jtrw0qfmn6zsp3as28rpndm3hz90gyr32tvs2ugnd89ca3xwmvjm7 Oh no. I've listened through the contestants for tonights #eurovision semi final. The lineup is so bad that I fear that there is a real risk of the Danish entry making to to the final. That song is an embarresment, even in a long line of very bad entries from our side. 2025-05-15T07:28:46Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsy7yk2kvksc85g4jg4jmh8d9n9pv5v35vp0rzvz7v6wcpuad6ahmczyrph42jtrw0qfmn6zsp3as28rpndm3hz90gyr32tvs2ugnd89ca3xdlx9ea In reply to nevent1q…7sfw
_________________________

that's the unicorn short story isn't it? The premises for the story are fantastic. But the style of writing didn't work for me at the time. 2025-05-10T21:28:30Z
