I use Osmand+ on Android, and it is very good. It provides you a simple interface to download maps to use them offline and contains a lot of information, including, in some countries, public transportation routes (I want to go from a to b, using buses or local trains).

The one thing I don't like is searching for a specific address, but it's totally livable and it does it's job very competently. Made in Germany, based on open street map, which is a UK non profit.

- Using nukes means losing all support, including China, who according to some reports has been quietly asking .RU to de-escalate every time nukes are mentioned.

- Ukraine is the largest country in Europe by land mass: nukes would probably burn a lot of things, but not give absolute superiority. Remember Chernobyl is in Ukraine.

Good luck with that. Goods & ressources already flow both ways between the two and there are credible reports of .RU sharing sat intelligence with Iran ahead of Shaheed strikes on US assets in the Gulf.

His nomination, first as Director of National Intelligence and then as head of the CIA, was not popular in the US intelligence community, where a lot of people complained about him being a very politicized figure.

To be honest, I feel like mwl is being a tad negative here: OpenBSD and OpenSSH man pages are excellent documentation in and out of themselves. Our dear Mister Lucas here has a knack, however, for writing simple documentation that mix humour with serious technical knowledge.

Just re-watched the original 1987 Predator movie, the one with Arnold S., former Governor of California.

And it is surprising how well the movie has held up. Some of the special effects are not as slick as today's but they are still pretty good.

I am still totally floored by the fact that this 2 cpu, 2GB netbook feels perfectly usable under #NetBSD 11.

Despite my love for #Slackware I will be the first to acknowledge that Linux (in general) is now so completely bloated that good little machines are not usable with it anymore.

Listen, I like a bit of science-fiction just as much as the next guy, but you have to remember that this is the kind of technology that gave you (and me) immortal hits such as a tomato and super glue pizza recipe, people with 16 fingers on each hand, proving there are no countries in Africa with 'K' in their names (and the list goes on).

I am way more afraid of mosquitoes and whoever is in the White House right now than I am of 'AI'.

Lessons learned: OpenBSD Amsterdam (npub1060…ydzs) has a much MUCH better bandwidth than I have at home (not a real surprise here).

#OpenBSD 'sysupgrade' is better than 90% of all tools out there.

If you want better computing, support your favourite open source OS. I don't care if it's not OpenBSD, but you have to put some money on the table and give back to the absolutely crazy people out there who give you that great little thing.

Just because you have an automated parrot on your computer does not make that machine 'intelligent'.

Even if you have 10000 computers running the same software, those machines are not 'intelligent'.

What you have is a poor statistical model.

So, stop using 'AI'. This term is pure propaganda, designed to make you despair.

Use better terms: 'machine generated', 'statistical nonsense' for instance.
