Though not everyone is fond of fermented cabbage, as I have come to find out.

Observing how the Waymo's behave in urban traffic, it strikes me that 3 or 4 creative cyclists could easily herd one of them. I wonder if any one has considered organizing Waymo Herding competitions (sort of like sheepdog trials, only with AVs and cyclists).

And of course bonus points if you gather more than to AVs together through a specific intersection.

75 is impressive! Spent the midday in SF at the Presidio protest march. No sign as good as the owl .

On the other hand the number of cars, pedestrians and cyclists honking, waving , showing support was impressive.

Good to see how many people value the Parks, National Forests, and the Federal employees who make them work.

Agreed. I think this is in part a commercial problem - the large car batteries are not end of life (at least not in any volume), and the cost and complexity of dealing with large numbers of small batteries is a disincentive.

There are some interesting technologies (I did just enough research to say " oh, this looks promising" about 3 years ago, and have forgotten most of the details)

Lithium metal is lithium metal, and lithium can be reclaimed from the battery (There's a bunch of interesting work on recycling battery chemistries)

And starting with lithium metal (or a Li salt) you have the lithium you need to make any of the lithium batteries.
