Well, it's about time I start to face what I've been putting off until now.

The short version is that I need help with my living situation.

Since I left Florida, I've been residing in the same house I first crashed at for three years now. While I get along great with the folks who are still here, and I've grown to love the area I'm living in, my roommate (who's the main tenant on the lease) will be moving in with her wife in NJ next year. I obviously can't move in with them once that time comes.

I could probably pick up the lease for the house I'm at in PA, but I have a hunch that the landlord is gonna hike prices to match other houses in the area and I won't be able to realistically afford it. Even with other roommates, it'll be tight, and that's before getting into finding a local-ish job out here.

An alternative is that I move out to NJ where my current job is and find my own place out there, but that's NJ and a part of me hates the moronic laws of that state to put it mildly. Logistics and gentrification aside, I'd sooner move to CA or NY than NJ if laws were the only factor involved. >.>

Another option involves moving out to Colorado, since my mate and a number of my friends live out there, but that's not even getting into the logistics of doing a move that far away, let alone finding a job out there.

I'd very much appreciate pointers and other options to consider. I have a pickup truck, so I don't have a problem loading up my stuff and doing a long road trip somewhere. My main concerns would be finding a decent place to live and finding a decent job that would be accommodating to someone like me.

Squeaking of, I let my inhibitions go after years of holding off and bought their inflatable bapper boots. Now I finally have a matching set to go with my handpaw bappers! :blobfoxhappy: :fluffytail:

Been wearing them for a couple hours so far while working in the basement and they're incredibly comfy~ They have a hard foam base, like fursuit feetpaw slippers do, and give great support while the inflatable part squeezes around my calves and stays put like a well made sock. They even have reasonable grip, so I could literally wear these around the house all day if I wanted~

Being openly queer will garner attention no matter what, but remember that most folks range from ambivalent to curious. The bigots who'd actually want to do damage are few and far between, and will make themselves known rather quickly. They'd typically be hiding if it weren't for equally bigoted folks with lots of money and influence trying to normalize and embolden this bigotry in the media, but most normal folks don't agree with that rhetoric and will still regard you as a person.

The session with my therapist today was draining and painful, as I've been confronting how badly neglected and isolated I was growing up this time around. All the resentment and anger I've felt from having my childhood effectively taken from me.

Only now am I starting to realize the extent of the damage. This is why I still cry when folks genuinely express caring about me. It's always a reminder of the lack of support and genuine compassion that was sorely absent in my life growing up.

I was forced to grow up and fend for myself at a young age, being responsible for watching over my little brother because he was clearly autistic yet my mom refused to get him help until he was a junior in high school. (Fucking hell, I needed that kind of help too, but she wanted me to "have a normal life". That's *more* shit to unpack... >.>)

Playing around with Windows 98 SE again really makes me appreciate having a machine that both embraces the internet of old while also designed to actually function without it if need be. Feels like modern tech requires an internet connection to do increasingly basic things, these days.

Honestly, I can relate somewhat. There was a time when I thought I was ace because I couldn't imagine myself having sex with others. Yet, when presented with the idea of being fem in those given situations, I felt waaaay more open to the idea.

Sounds to me like you're going through a similar thought process here, and I think it's worth exploring further. What helped me figure that out was when my trans lesbian friend offered to show me the ropes, so to speak. Really get to understand how sex works for girls. That was a very, very enlightening experience, to put it mildly.

In my case, I found out that I really liked the experience, and it sorta clicked for me that this was the way.

One thing I've learned, about the mentality behind dysphoria being a requirement for justifying these things, is that it's based around medicalism and the works of Blanchard that compounded that.

First of, there's the rhetoric that Blanchard is infamous for, in that there's a strict guideline of who can be "actually trans" under a specific criteria. Everyone else is just confused men who only want to transition to be attracted to themselves, thus the sexual angle to this.

It used to be that in order for a medical professional to sign off on treatment, one would have to say they feel dysphoric and deny the sexual aspects of in order to even be considered, because said medical professionals were going by Blanchard's writing as a guideline.

I personally think that's why this mentality and narrative is still so pervasive in trans circles, and it even got me for a while, too.

All I can say is, follow that euphoria. That's your heart telling you want you truly want, deep down.

Last night, I ended up working through some seriously overwhelming stuff weighing on me. Had been feeling depressed again while dwelling on the bottled up shame and guilt I kept pushing away, as well as this overarching sense of fear and anxiety that seemingly comes out of nowhere.

I reached out to friends to talk through what had been weighing on me, and we touched on how I'd been depressed and in survival mode for so long that I basically forgot how to plan for my future long term. (Or more likely, I never was able to learn how.)

There was this voice, one had had been pervasive and haunted me for well over a decade by now. When I started repeating what I'd been hearing, my friend pointed out how that voice was my expectation of death.

I hadn't been planning for a future because a part of me wanted to die and assumed that I wouldn't have made it this far. I then realized how I'd been manifesting the world to try to kill me, while also trying to stop it via sheer willpower to keep this voice at bay this entire time.

After my roommate talked through stuff with me some more, and I cried and cried so much, that voice started to come back again. That's when I realized that voice wasn't my own, but that of a demon that had been trying to manipulate me and put me back in that pit of misery again.

This time, I confronted that voice. Told it to shut up and fuck off. Foxo then started getting aggressive towards it, growling and barking at this entity. That's when I said "Get it! Get that bastard!"

Foxo then proceeded to pounce this entity and went straight for the neck. I felt it too, chomping down and doing a swift tug with its maw to rend them.

That's when the entity finally died and withered away, and I felt a peace and weight lift off of me. I also learned that Foxo wants to protect me, and I'm grateful for that.

It's a really cute look and I think it suits you~ ^w^

Ended up being invited to a roommate's birthday party yesterday, and I frankly had a rough time. Not for things you'd figure, though. It was a nice venue and the folks there were super friendly and queer.

It was all me. I felt so uncomfortable and out of place, there. Being amongst a bunch of non-furry (let alone therian) queer folks was a vibe that I just didn't mesh with, on top of the venue being cramped and crowded. Then folks were drinking and getting loud, on top of a damn bluetooth speaker playing loud house music in every room...

I ended up becoming so badly anxious and overwhelmed, to the point where I had to have my friends leave early for my sake after being there for nearly two hours. When we got back into the car, I literally broke down crying. Very much grateful that I finally had a dark, quiet place for some reprieve, and that my friends were trying their best to be helpful and supportive in my time of need.

So, yeah... I don't think this fox does well in unfamiliar, crowded urban areas...

I was having a discussion with my roommate last weekend, and she brought up something profound that stuck with me.

In a universe that's inherently cold and uncaring, there are those among us who choose to create warmth and kindness despite that. That's very much something I've been striving to do, and our heart-to-heart convo with said roommate touched on how I've achieved exactly that.

I can very much relate to being confused over petplay stuff, as it was via petplay that I ended up learning and discovering things about myself that I hadn't considered before. Making that distinction of "I love playing this role" versus "wow, why does this feel affirming?" is the matter to keep in mind here.

Perfectly reasonable to have that thought, as it is easy to overthink this stuff. For me, what basically confirmed my self reflections was the phantom sensations that I'd get and explaining certain behaviors that I'd have. That seemed to go a bit further than "it's just in my head", but that's an important distinction to make.

I think I'm finally past the worst of what I'd been enduring this week. I'm actually able to laugh and feel positive emotions again! :blobfoxhappy: :fluffytail: :fluffytail:

Turns out releasing years of anxiety and bottled up emotions all at once on Monday resulted in me becoming so badly overwhelmed that I was outright going through one of the worst depressive spirals I've felt in years. I think it was my mind and body goint into a self preservation mode, so to speak.

I'm just relieved at this point, and wanna pick up the pieces of what happened and move forward from this. The important part of this is that I actually have the mental spoons and motivation to make those rubber ears I've been wanting to make!

That's been the case for a while now, which is why all non-Firefox based browsers all use the Chromium engine/APK. It's just performs and renders so much faster than Gecko can, despite the best efforts of Mozilla to optimize it over the years.

I only use Waterfox because of the Chromium Manifest V3 extension APK being deliberately rolled out by Google to neuter ad blockers. Otherwise I'd be using something like Vivaldi as my daily driver browser instead.

Earlier today a young male fox came by the house I'm staying at. My guess is he's a first time dad trying to find food for mama and the kits. Looked to be about a year old at most.

I happened to be wearing my fox kigu when I watched the adorable critter from the kitchen window. Observing how he looked around the yard, watching his ears swivel around as he would turn to face a certain direction. Then he looked up at the window and we locked gazes for a moment before he went back to what he was doing previously.

I felt a jolt when it happened, a spark of joy overcoming me in that moment as we watched each other. It's almost like he could sense that I was there, yet didn't feel scared of me at all.

The fox starts to pant eagerly as you reach out for the tail, the tips of your fingers grazing along the surface of the rubber for a split second before the four-tailed fox darts behind you with an excited vulpine giggle.

In one deft motion, the fox lifts the back your shirt, gripping the base of the tail in its other paw and firmly pressed it into the small of your back. The patch of skin where the tail has touched is alight with an intense warmth, the latex softening and melding into place with a putty-like consistency before the kitsune lets go and backs away.

Before you can process what's happening, those keen, intense eyes of the creature lock onto you once more. Watching intently as the rubber continues to meld, soften and spread along your lower back. Engulfing more and more of your body as that warmth continues to spread.

The tail now has a presence within your senses that bombard your psyche with intense feedback. The motions and reverberations as it sways, curls and wags. The ripples of the rubber envelope coursing along its length as the air subtly shifts around within.

The warmth continues to spread, a tendril of goo running along your spine all the way to the base of the skull before plunging into your hair. Within seconds, two bits of rubber emerge into vague triangular shapes before fully forming into a matching pair of rubber vulpine ears.

That's when a voice echoes out around you, with an ethereal, otherworldly vibe.

"Yesssss, coming along nicelyyyy~ You'll be a lovely rubber fox just like me before long~

The kitsune approaches once more, running one of its paws along the contours of your head as that paw traces further upwards to your newly formed ears that twitch in response to their very tips being grazed.

You might be happy with what's called a 60% or 75% layout keyboard, then. Sometimes those can get weird with the keycap layout, but that keycap set looks to be rather versatile.

The enthusiast brands have barebones models available that only include the base. You'd pick out the key switches and cap set you want and assemble them accordingly.

As for a specific brand to recommend? Anything but Keychron, tbh. (They tend to do proprietary weirdness with their cables despite being USB-C.)

While out on an evening stroll through the park, the pathways illuminated by street lamps, a creature approaches from the shadows. At first it appears to be just a fox scampering by, but the fox stops and sits on its haunches in the middle of the path, illuminated by the streetlamp above.

This is no ordinary vulpine, as its form reflects the lamp's yellowish light with an odd shiny appearance. Then an ethereal pink glow surrounds its tail, which splits into four and fans out behind the creature. It then stands up on its hind legs while staring directly at you with an intense stare, stepping closer and closer with subtle squeaks and squirks of its paws on the pavement.

Now it stands within arms reach, the strong scent of rubber proving to be nearly overwhelming, yet alluring in a way?
