My parents had a deep well when I was growing up. My father had the water tested and the test came back positive for bacteria. It never made us sick, though. We were told that the water level moving up and down in the well allowed bacteria to grow on the sides of the well tube when it was wet and then exposed when the water level went down. My father was told to pour bleach down the well to kill the bacteria. Obviously we couldn't drink the water until it was flushed out.

Sometime at your convenience I would love to hear what challenges you encountered in moving to another continent. For example, I was going to buy or rent a cargo container for the household furnishings I have accumulated over a lifetime and don't wish to part with. I'll bet this would introduce all sorts of issues you perhaps didn't have to contend with.

The "Dunning Kruger Effect" has two sides. One side is the one we're all familiar with - stupid people don't know they're stupid.

My initial mis-read of your data caused me to think that the first two digits of each line were the day of the month. Then I noticed 'Times in UTC'. So this thing intensifies by a category every hour?

Silly me but I thought that there was a time when hurricanes didn't form in the Gulf of Mexico - that they formed in the Atlantic and only impacted in the Gulf if they survived passage over Florida or Cuba.
