Green banana flour. This was made from Cavendish bananas, green but fully rounded out, sliced about 5mm thick and dried at 58C (dehydrator using solar power) for about 8 hours, then milled in my new (to me) op shop Vitamix. It's a lovely fine silky flour. It takes about 40 Cavs to make a kilo of flour, so well worth it. #permaculture #retrosuburbia

Oh it is frustrating when I can't find an article I thought I saved but didn't! It was 3 myths (or misconceptions) commonly held by people who are not climate change deniers. One was the myth that it would only affect future generations, a long time in the future. Two was that renewable energy could fix it. Can't remember number three. It means, you know someone who can do the job or lend you the tools, give you advice, teach you how to do it, for cash or barter or 'you owe me one' or even 'what goes around comes around'. Hi Jack, one thing Mastodon allows that I found very useful to get my feed humming was that it lets you follow hashtags. When I sharted out here, I followed a heap of hashtags of things that interested me, and when I found someone I knew or whose posts I loved on those hashtags, I'd follow the person. You can also add hashtags to your profile, then someone searching by hashtag will find you.

He's for a one and a bit (16 month old) boy. So he's toddler size (my glasses for scale) , soft and very cuddly, durable, washable. Recycled wool jumper shredded and carded till fluffy for stuffing, all recycled ingredients apart from some embroidery cotton. Menu, in the end, thank you to all the suggestions! Starters- Greek dolmades with lots of herbs in the filling, Sourdough bruschetta with cherry toms and basil. Homegrown olives. Mains of fresh pasta with pesto, button squash, tromboncini, cherry toms, leek. Parmesan for on top. Sourdough garlic bread, Greek salad based on cucumber and green beans. Foodie friends, I have a dinner party tomorrow. Menu doesn't have to be vego or all out of the garden, but I have lots of eggs, so I could do pasta or dumplings or noodles. And I could make icecream for dessert. Lots of basil, mint, Vietnamese mint. Vine leaves. Green and butter beans, button squash, red and green cabbage. Cucumbers galore, cherry tomatoes. This is a wild ride of a story, readable for just that. But I've been thinking about it over the last few days for what it says about modern capitalism. It seems a perfect metaphor for what is happening at Musk and Brin scale. Adam Smith would not recognise any part of this. Nothing I learned in economics at uni in the 1980's applies even a little. Too much nitrogen and not enough phosphorus would be my guess (although by rights that would make your carrots all leaf too. ) Also lots of manure might have given you an acid tending ph. I'd try adding bone meal and wood ash, not too much. See what that does. Also seaweed if you csn get it, for the micronutrients. And in the longer term compost made with lots of variety snd weeds.

None of us can take our little share of the air and say, no, you're not allowed to run this through your private jet and spit out the polluted, depleted remains. Still on my breakfast from the garden roll. This morning, spicy kale pancakes with coriander mint yoghurt, roughly this recipe https://witcheskitchen.com.au/spicy-kale-pancake/ They take me literally 15 minutes to make including picking time, all out of the garden bar a little bit of flour, a little bit of powdered milk in the yoghurt, and a little bit of sugar in the cumquat marmelaide. Oh that looks so good! I do admit I'm trying to hide eggs in everything at the moment. I only have a dozen chooks, and some of them are about 8 years old but still laying in spring, which means I am getting 6- 10 eggs a day. I'd be considering pasta for this menu except for the gluten and dairy free person. I'm not as confident as you with Indian cooking.

Day 2 breakfast I'm thinking your suggestion of a baked spinach omelette, or wondering if I can manage poached eggs on spinach with sourdough or gluten free toast, and papaya. I have a gluten free banana cake for morning tea in the freezer. Second lunch is still a mystery. I'd love to do spanakopita (prebaked and frozen) but the gluten and dairy free person can't eat that. Maybe frittata & salad?

I'm thinking Middle Eastern for the first lunch - pita breads and red lentil wraps with hummus, muhammara (I have some jars of roasted red peppers I made in autumn), tabouli, boiled eggs, homemade mayo. A cheese and crackers board in the afternoon - I've made a batch of rosemary sourdough crackers and some fig and pecan crackers, and I have homegrown olives & the roasted capsicum and some sundried tomatoes, plus carrot and celery sticks & cheese. I have a meeting over dinner coming up, for six people, so I've frozen this bit and I can just cook some rice and add the snow peas and broccolini and coriander at the end. On to dessert!
