fox update: got even more insulation up, and the first pieces of drywall for over the cabinets. i'm doing it before the cabinets go up cause it'll be super tight up there after. also picked up some plywood for the first cabinet, and some more 11/16" unistrut for shelves under the island. despite being old melamine coated MDF, the unistrut makes them plenty strong, the bottom shelf can hold both me and the miter saw at the same time. tons of shit will fit down there, even the tile saw.

fox update: insulation and more pegboard segments are in place along the other wall. for the first time in all of history, all my files are together in one place. also i put casters on a bunch of wire shelves i had lying around, two will fit under the left side of the workbench and the third will go here and hold the welder and plasma cutter.

next step: data conduit. i'll use up all the leftover smurf tube before getting anything new, and run the fiber while the walls are open even though it may never get used. the box in the far corner behind the workbench is getting 2x ethernet to the server room, 2x USB to another box below the workbench, and one aux cable to the box behind the radio. i'll add another box somewhere along the left workbench for 2 more ethernet for testing/setting things up. and the box behind the radio is getting a coax from the distribution amp fed from my antennas. i'll need to make a coax to alligator clip thing so the fucker quits being all staticy.
if at some point i do a handcam project stream, this is where it'll be. any suggestions for things to add before i go and do all the data conduit and start filling them up?

next step: data conduit. i'll use up all the leftover smurf tube before getting anything new, and run the fiber while the walls are open even though it may never get used. the box in the far corner behind the workbench is getting 2x ethernet to the server room, 2x USB to another box below the workbench, and one aux cable to the box behind the radio. i'll add another box somewhere along the left workbench for 2 more ethernet for testing/setting things up. and the box behind the radio is getting a coax from the distribution amp fed from my antennas. i'll need to make a coax to alligator clip thing so the fucker quits being all staticy.
if at some point i do a handcam project stream, this is where it'll be. any suggestions for things to add before i go and do all the data conduit and start filling them up?

i should also think about vacuum pipe before the walls are closed up. i'm already tripping over the vacuum hose and i don't like it. maybe this is a sign to go full central vacuum and leave the shop vac in the shed for wet messes. we don't need a vacuum hose reel or to deal with a long hose if there's hard pipe with conveniently located inlets around.
