They have faced a huge backlash including concerns of ownership of physical copies of games vs digitally leasing your right to play.

Because if you have the disk: it's yours forever. But if it's digital...well...Playstation has already delisted some games off their store, which means any gamers who bought that game, can no longer redownload it since it's been delisted.

So they paid for a game they do not own, if Playstation can just yank it from out underneath your feet at any time.

This is relevant, because the more things go digital, even beyond gaming...the less ownership rights you will have. Playstation will also use this move to digital to push subscription based gaming...i.e. you pay every month to play. Instead of you bought the game for x price and it's yours forever.

Other companies will no doubt be following this trend. It's a big reason I want to buy physical games for the Switch 2 I just bought. Anyways...🤓 2026-08-06T21:11:08Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsggk7hw9rgsvh6j7544zle3x5k6v0wdyfzug3nk5z7nn4pqlkhclczyr6gptjve4u5v4m5sfww73tsjg72rtfq5flzg7se6u8c7pypjc0k2r2u0lg I wish modern computers and laptops still had an optical drive.

My 1st gaming laptop in 2011 still had one. My 2nd and current gaming laptop does not. And now you have to buy separate usb connected optical drives.

I tried that once for this laptop and the thing fried after like 4 uses. Meanwhile the 15 year old optical drive on my 2011 gaming rig still works.

I think they started taking them out to make room for more internal fans and better cooling, but still. 2026-08-06T20:19:07Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs8n54a7sux6l4pkpnjn7tw4kj2vggzqwxr65fdu53w9kvn8lh96dgzyr6gptjve4u5v4m5sfww73tsjg72rtfq5flzg7se6u8c7pypjc0k2fp6nc3 In reply to nevent1q…hgrd
_________________________

Sounds good!! 😊 2026-08-04T02:56:13Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsfc6e3ye268epmqjv9hzhwfrr2ex5xjzzfe3mfnqecta6q84uzseczyr6gptjve4u5v4m5sfww73tsjg72rtfq5flzg7se6u8c7pypjc0k2axwfr6 What's your perfect number? 🔥🌭

Comment below 👇

(Mine is a #5!! 😋 )

2026-08-03T21:57:56Z
