After a few years of only once a month or so junk phone calls, somehow it's now escalated into several per day. The old big offender was the car warranty scam. The new one is calling about the loan I supposedly applied for.

I have to suspect anyone falling for whatever the scam is, is someone who will be desperately hurt.

It's infuriating that phone service is so broken to let this go on so long

      Needed to build a new copy of a tool today. The page with the code:

«Building From Source

Too often today people forget that farms are the source of their food. So, too, Unix newcomers forget that code is the source of their programs. This program is not available as an RPM or in a ports directory. You must deal with the code.

The steps, roughly:

*  Untar the tarball.
*  Apply the patch.
* Change to the new directory.
* Make the program.

If something goes wrong, you fiddle with the source.»

It qualifies for two upcoming MFF prompts but I have other plans.

"Rillington" closes follows a real British mass murder case with a wrongful conviction. It was made in part to counter calls for a return to executions.

Their search never really surfaced her products by any sort of general search so sales were never thanks to etsy, just via etsy.

But much as I'd like artisan-dot-coop to be good the results are thin there. Your etsy example has lots on non-homemade products, but the same search at Artisans has no results.

Very careful airgapping (buy with cash, never register printer, never put printer on network, only print from thumbdrives in a print server that also isn't on network) and you can keep the risk down to "printer encodes tracking that can prove two things came from the same printer" level. Typewriters have a similar risk level.
